Well Kiev beat us , and then won again at the weekend , so they'll fancy their chances alright ....

but providin' we don't do a 'Hamburg' and concede a goal before we've even got our shorts dirty , then i think we CAN pull the goals back !

We made them look better than they actually were in Kiev by us giving a very poor first half display .... once we'd pushed forward , and introduced Tevez in the second half , we looked better , and they were very fortunate in scoring a second goal just at a time when it didn't look likely......

they are beatable !

I think MC has a good chance but only in case they: 1) go cautious from the start without crazy and useless onslaughts; 2) play wide with a direct passing without lousy crosses (Kiev defense will be ready for them).

3) MC should win within 90 min or in extra time, penalties will be deadly for Manchester team because Shovkovskiy is specialist in penalty shoot-outs.

Accordin' to the MEN today Mancini is thinkin' of puttin' a half fit James Milner on the bench , so there you have it ...... at least we can take a crumb of comfort from that news!

You just try to recall scores. Most of the aways with UK teams were lost 0-1 in a very close encounters. We lost 0-2 to Newcastle in 1997 when the score didn't matter (we already won group by that final leg). Last time we were just unlucky with Arsenal and conceded the only goal during extra time.

Very intriguing game this. No idea how Mancini will set us up. I'm hopefully of seeing the fab four again. Perfect game to try it out a they have goals in them. If we don't go through there is the silver lining of less football and more rest.
