Three games, three cup finals.

I really hope if the players do the job at Everton, the fans will make the Etihad into a cauldron of noise and really give the team the support that could give them the extra energy to complete the marathon. That would include staying until the final whistle to give them a great big cheer. (It's amazing what that will do to the players confidence and mentality)

liverpools record at palace is as dire as ours at everton but it means nothing it certaily does not indicate a defeat for us, everton without 4/5 players will be there for the taking, its if we turn up or not, i dont think we will let this last chance slip away

Bad records and so called bogey teams are all in the mind and actually have no influence in a game unless you let it.

The criteria are ranked as follows:
Goal difference
Goal scored

If both are equal then it is a play off - it doesn't matter how many teams are involved either.

That would be fantastic if Chelsea could pull of a couple of 18-10 wins and join us in a three way tie.

My daughter was asking only this week why there are only ever two teams playing at once. A triangular pitch, three goals - ten men camped in the Chelsea penalty area. Liverpool blowing themselves out in ten rather than twenty minutes. Yaya making one lung busting run to score in both goals, then having to lie down for a fortnight. Suarez not knowing who to bite first!

Seriously there are NO rules for a 3 way play-off. The rules assume only 2 teams finishing equal on GD and GS. It also doesn't say weather the play-off is a one off or a two legged affair and what happens with away goals.

I'm envious of some of the positive posters on here. I just can't bring myself to think about winning it, as I think I'll fucking jinx something (utter shite, but I can't help it). It's not even fun, it's a pain in the arse - I don't even want to think about the Everton game. I'll probably take the dogs out for a 90 minute walk next week.......fucking football.......hate it!

On the upside the dog is loving it. I know I barely could sleep last night, this is going to be a long fucking week and trying to think of anything else is difficult.

If they win their last two games 5-0, and 6-0 and we won our last three games 5-4, 5-4 and 4-3? how will that get sorted out eh?

True. Also, Everton are playing a much more open, aggressive system than they ever did under wee Davey. It always suits us to play against a team that actually wants to play football as opposed to parking the bus.

Unlike most Liverpool fans I am sure I am not alone in not counting our chickens, I won't be getting a tee shirt printed or doing semi religious iconography showing that it's our destiny, I will take one game at a time
