Will we win the league this season? No

All the pundits are saying yeah credit to Arsenal for eschewing their safety first, football by numbers approach and showing renewed confidence and courage in trying to go toe to toe with City. Not for me.

Arsenal to me seemed like a boxer who was up on points earlier in the fight but has been slowly dismantled by a superior opponent and, knowing that there's not much left in the tank, has come out swinging in the 12th round hoping to land a knockout blow. The last throw of the dice from a broken team. Having failed to do so they've severely depleted themselves and it wouldn't surprise me one bit if they fall off a cliff now and we end up 6,7,8 points clear at the end of the season.
Here's hoping . With any other team at their backs they might just get over the line but we are their perfect nightmare and they are going to be having sleepless nights ..

My spider senses are tingling, and they’re telling me that Arsenal are going to further bottle their title chances with a defeat on Saturday, at home to The Toon.

Before the Goons kick-off their next game , we could be top of the league , in the final of an FA Cup with the Carabao cup already in the trophy cabinet , would love to see the Goons put a positive spin on this

There's been a lot of talk about Arsenal cracking under the pressure, but it was City who looked nervous yesterday and I'm sure that conceding an early set pieces from an overhit backpass wasn't part of the plan.

There's still a long way to go and it's frustrating that due to Palaces European commitments we're struggling to find a spare midweek, especially if we reach the FA Cup Final and the Bournemouth game also needs rearranging.

For the moment we just need to focus on Burnley

Arsenal have all season been a team that plays on margins. So to that end we got the best version of them, but the corners have dried up, there's no goal threat from their wingers, their only goal was an absolute gift, and their big number 9 can barely get on the pitch. Their best version of themselves for the rest of the season can still get beat and struggle to create, and the worst version of themselves creates nothing, can't break down a defence, and their crowd is shaky.

I think arsenals reaction is going to be crucial.
By the time we get to play our next PL game, after Burnley, and assuming we beat them, we could be still be 6 points behind arsenal, albeit with 2 games in hand
Not sure how they will cope with the pressure.
It can go one of 2 ways

Nice story bro but the Toon are in total disarray and will struggle with Arsenal's physical approach. I can see a narrow win for the Goons with a red card or two for Newcastle if they put up some resistance.

We must have been watching a different game.

Thought both teams were poor in the first half , neither had control of the game and gave up half chances , but we dominated the vast majority of the 2nd half with the Goons playing on the break , they upped their game for the last ten minutes because they had no choice and we defended magnificently

I'm not sure if anyone else has picked up on this?

Arsenal's remaining 5 PL fixtures are all in London. 3 at home, 1 away to West Ham, and 1 away to Palace.

It's just coincidence how that's happened.

All about the pressure. Yesterday will have broken them, mentally. They will most likely be looking up at us in the table come that game. I wouldn’t be surprised if Newcastle go there and get a draw at least.

I think the opposite. They will take confidence from the fact that they came to the Etihad and gave us a game.

Expect no favours from Arsenal, if we are going to win it we have to do the business ourselves.

They are still slight favourites imho.

In all likelihood we are going to drop points somewhere.

Which will obviously mean we will need Arsenal to drop points too. I see the games either side of their champions league game as the most likely. Fulham at home and West Ham away. If they win both of them then il be pessimistic about our chances.
