Will we win the league this season?

Fucking hell, both of last nights teams look a million miles in front of us, in fact, Newcastle shown everything that was missing from our play on saturday, movement, passion, energy and a desire to win.
Bournemouth did the same against the dippers you totally missed the point . Newcastle have very little upfront yet exposed the dippers dodgy defence big time

Against Wolves we were hopeless for the first 20 minutes at creating strong goal scoring chances. And later Pep said we were poor in the second half.

Obviously there were shining moments by a good few players but it wasn't an outstanding performance by any stretch of the imagination imo.

To be fair, we need more games to see if we can consistently score multiple goals per match. Seems unlikely to me. Unfortunately.
Hardly hopeless against Wolves I must have been watching another game . I amongst many others thought it was one of City’s better opening day performances of the last few years despite a very short pre season and new players bedding in etc etc

Until the chip from Riejnders we looked exactly like last season, struggling to break down a resolute defence. So to me for 20 minutes or so we looked hopeless or whatever is the best word to describe a team that tries and tries but never tries much different than before.

Thankfully we then had a good spell and in the 2nd half it was nice to have moments of good play but it was also quite messy at times.

Overall a good result with nice signs but not a great performance. Not building on that against Spurs only made the promising signs seem more feint.

We wernt hopeless against Wolves pal .
We were however hopeless against Spurs .

Not this season for me, we need the fire in the belly and I’m not sure pep can relight it. It all feels a bit stale and stagnant. We had it for a good while, but since the fa cup final against United, we lost the fire, we haven’t found it again, we need a catalyst, a spark from somewhere. We used to have that us against the world mentality, I don’t see it anymore.

Context and a bit of humble pie is important. Arsenal have been trying and coming close for years and they still haven't won it. Liverpool have only won it twice in 10 years.

The period that we've just exited is certainly the best city team that has ever existed and probably the best Premier League team that has ever existed. There's very little chance that we'll match those levels again.

We have a young team and it's going to be a battle and we're going to win and lose games, more so than ever before because the other teams are competing harder than ever before.

We have almost a totally new squad and new coaches how can it be stale, it will take time, how could it not, but there are a lot of ambitious new young players there that will want to make an impression.
Will it all come together in time to win it this season who knows, but wouldn't write us off.

As for City’s chances of winning the league this season a lot depends on sorting the right back position out . We desperately need a top class right back, Rico is not the answer but he is a good utility player probably more suited to our CL campaign. The goal keeper situation needs sorting ASAP one way or the other . If Ederson stays he should be our number one keeper for this season. A fit Rodri will make a huge difference to our season on all fronts !
A lot to look forward too and nothing is certain in football!

Underestimation is ok after two games but it’s just a matter of clicking together and we will be force again

I'd have us 3rd.

1) Arsenal
2) Liverpool
3) City
4) Newcastle
5) Chelsea

It could change but the big games really have become an issue as well as the tricky away games.

We'll know more after the next 3:
Brighton (A)
United (H)
Arsenal (A)

If we come out with 7 points from that we're doing alright, I think we'll probably get 4 or 5 though. I just can't see us going to Arsenal and getting anything.
