Will we win the league this season?

Liverpool ain't got any better players than us. Honestly, our best XI is stronger than theirs. And their two 'best' players both pushing 35. Do they really think they can keep performing at top level all the time?

Come on be sensible now. Van Dijk walks into our starting 11 as do quite a few others.

I fear we will finish a distant third.

Arsenal are stronger than us defensively and Liverpool invariably win plenty of games late on.

A lot will depend on the fitness of key players, and whether we can stay within 5-7 points of the leaders over the next few months.

Mate, he could fall off any time. Last year Gundi and KDB went downhill at our club too… No way I’d take him over Gvardiol or Ruben Dias.
If he was in our squad and all three were available for a cup final on the weekend he’s the first name in the backline.

Players can drop off at anytime but if we are talking about right now then without question he is in. Let’s not be silly and let our rivalry with another team cloud our judgement on top class players.

I can see us doing what we did in 2019-20 where we scored 17 more goals (102) and had a +15 better goal difference (+67) than Liverpool, but finished 18 points behind them.

I don’t think we’ll finish that far behind them this time (I’m hoping for maybe 12 more points than last srason’s 71 points but can see them improving a bit on their 84 points), but with so many young players in the squad and many having played few PL+CL games even if they’re a bit older than the younger lads, in our squad, I can see us being inconsistent.

Young and inexperienced players are naturally inconsistent.

We’ll win loads of games, twat loads of teams by big scorelines, but I can see us being just inconsistent enough to lose enough games over the season to keep us out of it.

Maybe an unpopular achievement. But if we win the league this year with all due respect to our current squad against this Liverpool team, I think it will be the hardest title we’ve won.

Still a near enough impossible task (although Liverpool's defeat vs Palace has given the chasing pack some encouragement)

It’s only 6 games in. Look how shit we were after the first 6 games last year.

Long way to go. We can’t get too excited yet though as we still haven’t beat anyone decent.

Very unpopular.
Their 18/19 team were streets ahead of this team.
97 points and 2nd place to our boys in blue.
This L’pool team not a patch on that one.

3 or 4 years ago, maybe. The Covid season when they won the league, he was immense. But, in my opinion, he's not been the same player since Pickford nailed him. Plus, he's getting on a bit. None of us get any quicker as we get older.
