Why would we 'demand' anything?
I will support City as always and, yes, hope for a Top 6 finish and much improved away form.

With more transfers in the Summer, no European football to distract us and neither Everton or Villa being any good next season 5th place must be the absolute minimum expectation, anything below this is failure as far as I am concerned!

5th is the minimum? So basically Hughes can't win then since we'll never have the overall squad quality to finish 4th. I guess he HAS to win a cup to keep you happy then...

We're nowhere near being a top 4 side yet, unless we bring in 5 or 6 ( probably need more than that) top class players then we'll be hard pushed to get even top 6.
People can bang on all they like about our presnt squad & whilst it's better than we've had for a long time , it's still nowhere near good enough for a top 4 side.

Top 6 would absolutely be a massive success next season! If we dont manage to get into the top 4 in the next 5 years i wont be bothered as long as we are making progress or being consistent in our quality of playing squad, league positions, hunt for trphies (League, FA and UEFA Cups), attendances and atmosphere; then i will be more than happy!
You've got to say that the top 4 teams, especially the top 3, are lightyears ahead of us! Even Arsenal have got a much better squad than we have, and they will all be improving every year! So no matter how much progress we make the top teams will be also making progress which will make getting into the top 4 harder and harder! So if people do actually think we will get into the top 4 soon, expect to be disappointed for the forseeable future!
For me, i want to see us taking a hold of the 5th and 6th places in the league and really estblish ourselves as a good, consistant Quarter, Semi, Finalst and winners of cup competitions! The Prem and Champs Lg will come in time!

four or five more wins this season would have put us in fourth, and looking at our away record i dont see any reason why we couldnt improve on that and finish top four next season.
no european games mean plenty of rest for the team, just means no little trips away for us next year.
