Willy has to play in the Final

Describing Hart being a "small improvement in quality" over Pantilimon is akin to describing Aguero as "a small improvement in quality" over Gerry Creaney.

Speak for yourself when you say that "morale" dropped when Hart was picked for that game. Not where I was it didn't. It increased if anything. And you've no idea what the dressing room thought about it so please don't claim you do.

Apart from that, good post!

Wilf is right in saying morale dropped at Wembley when Joe appeared. There was a lot of disbelief in the ground but maybe not in your living room?

If he does play, I hope there are no boos for him on Sunday. He was playing behind MDM and Kolarov on Sunday. Everyone reckons we are much better defensively when VK plays so hopefully he won't be flapping about. Anyway, main point is, if he's playing for City on Sunday, we get behind him.

Spot on.

Chelski also got behind Zaba easy enough. There just wasn't enough pressure on the ball in midfield and our makeshift team ran out of steam!

Disgrace if he plays after Sunday. Dippers I'm work are praying he plays - that says something. Our clubs been fucked under Manuel. Totally undone the hard work of Roberto.

I supposed the saving grace is that Mignolet will also be playing.

How is dropping a player after they had probably their worst game in a City shit lacking in class? This is why I can't wait to be rid of Pellegrini cos I know for a fact if Joe had played that badly in one of our CL games he'd have Willy in net for the next one. He has his favourites and he will play them even if it costs us the best chance we have for a trophy this year. Fucking counting down the days till he goes.

I am looking forward to Pep too.

That said, even the great Managers make mistakes. Mancini must deeply regret being pressured into going back on his word and picking Joe for the Wigan final.

Of course most blues will still support him if picked but the fact is he's nowhere near joes level, is out of form, had a mare on Sunday and he SHOULD NOT play based on all those factors being out of form was enough for joe to be dropped so the same should apply for willy in the final but will it? If willy plays liverpool get a boost before a ball is kicked so I really hope its joe even though willy could have a blinder (doubt it) but it could happen and we win the cup my opinion remains its a final play your best team and that it obvious who that is please don't start us at a disadvantage Manuel

i really don't think the morale will drop if joe hart starts on sunday. intact i for one will be very happy

You may be right judging by some of the replies here. That said if the Bluemoan reaction was the benchmark then e.g. Dzeko would never have got enough games to win us the league a couple of years ago.

It's just a pity for Willy and us that he had his worst performance in a City shirt on Sunday!

What kind of person only lets willy get to a semi.

Really though, the last few weeks ive gone from thinking pellegrini isnt THAT bad to thinking he is a senile dick head. If he plays willy in the final then he can fuck off, he will go down in history as a pile of shit in my mind.
Whatever the "rules" are he has created about playing the 2nd keeper in the league cup, after a performance like against Chelsea he should have his kit taken away and be told to fuck off. I would be disciplined at work if i performed as shit as he did, he should too

NO NO NO NO NO NO. We need to win on Sunday, and putting him in goal just because that's the 'nice' thing to do is nonsense!! If he plays on Sunday I just cannot see us winning the game. Hart is our number 1 and as such must start our big games. As for what happened in 2013 when hart was recalled and Pants was dropped (hahaha that sounds funny) that was a different issue, as Pants was a genuinely better keeper than Caballero.

Lol............. I've been thinking that for a while. But in Willy's defence, it can't be easy going weeks without a game and then coming in cold for an away match to Chelsea.

Having said that, Costel didn't do that badly in the same situation.

I'd agree if he'd put in just a poor performance, but he forgot what his role was in that game, he jumped away from the ball!

You can see who the perennial losers are on this thread.
Let's all but throw a cup final just so we don't hurt the feelings of a poor goalkeeper who's likely not going to be here next year and we get to pat each other on the back for being classy.
Why on earth would you give the opposition a boost in such a way?
He gives the back four no confidence because he doesn't know if he's coming or going when the ball is in the air. He doesn't talk to the back four, he flaps at everything and the one thing he's normally good at which is shot stopping saw that exposed when one when right through him at the weekend.
There's no legitimate reason for him starting football wise, not one.

Id forgotten that we won the Wigan Cup Final 10 nil!

If Joe was a serious contender for Sunday then let's see a fantastic clean sheet from him tomorrow night!

We didn't mate, we got beat, mainly because of the absolute mess behind the scenes regarding the management situation and a squad of players who were at odds with Mancini.
It wouldn't have mattered much who went in goal that day - this is different.
