british tennis is still a upper class sport ?? and money is needed to produce a player and investing in a young kid cost thousands, yes the LTA do scholarships but its still based on something from a poss tennis club in the first place, once schools and local parks run by councils sold of there lands to developers the kids from working backgrounds just went and did something else ?? its born a silver spoon kid vs born a plastic spoon kid and having the funds to let your kids play tennis, also the fight and hunger in the working class kid brings you that extra bit in your belly with having to fight in the first place
