Born in South Africa, brought up in New Zealand, went to uni in the USA until 24 ish then became a Brit as the LTA threw a lot of money his way. His parents were born in this country
He moved to England at 16 before going to the US for uni and his parents are Brits as you say, but clearly he followed the best path for his career which was to represent us rather than NZ.
I've got no problem supporting a New Zealander though, works in cricket and not doing too badly in tennis either. The rugby team could benefit from having a few more at the moment.

Most of our tennis players aren't as British as they seem to be on the surface, I can get behind a newcomer whatever their nationality but not because of their nationality.
