Wimbledon 2023 | Alcaraz beats Djokovic in the final

So Wimbledon lost some of yesterday's schedule to rain, and I believe rain has stopped play just now as well.

Why do they never bring start of play forward to 10am especially when it looked like more rain was going to cause disruption?

*Have just checked the forecast and the weather looks terrible all day. Why not start play at 10/11 am on the show courts and schedule an extra match on there with the roof shut?

Don't be daft lad/lass, that would require someone with common sense and nous. Don't think they've got many of that sort of person round Wimbledon way. :-)

I think Naomi has retired from tennis, not sure about the commentating and presenting although doubt she will this year as she had twins in late December 2022.

I'm also hot and cold with it. No personalities really like we used to have, more robotic and as I said in an earlier post, wham, bam, thank you mam serving.

I'm recording it and if I see something online that looks interesting I'll fast forward it to watch it.... like Venus Williams falling yesterday....that is very mean of me I know but I was so glad when she went out, she always seems so petulant and a terrible loser. JMHO

But all hail our Liam he has a personality and can be a good laugh. Go Liam the Blue!!
Yeah. I like Liam too.

I've played with people who've played with them (the club is just up the road).

Miss playing actually.

Might restart this summer.

Had the honour of hitting with the Broadies when they were making their way and when I was still able to keep up - just about.
Their Dad Simon is a great bloke and incredibly talented coach - not a fan of our monopolising failure - the LTA. He's a red but all the kids are blue.

Play starts at 11 am on all courts except Centre and One and that’s because they can go long after dark.

It’s a good time for the spectators who have to travel and it’s a good time for the players, who go through a couple of hours of warming up, media and pre-match prep.

They have the whole of Middle Sunday as a rain buffer now. It’s scheduled for half the 4th round but can take a full schedule if needed.

I felt the same as you re personalities. There is a Netflix documentary called ‘Break point’ about the tennis tour. It’s very good and certainly rekindled my interest in the game. Worth a watch.

Murray was superb.

One of the very best athletes i have ever seen......i love his attitude and desire, and hopefully he can get past a couple more rounds.
Good to still Lendl involved in the game too.

Not everyone's. favourite player (a rather cold machine to say the least) but I loved him as a kid.
Wish I still had his Adidas tennis tops...
