Try updating via the update assistant, instead of the automated way.Fuckion microsoft keep asking me to update my laptop. I ignore 'em because when i do try and update it takes that long that my lappy fan goes mental then turns off laptop altogether. When i turn iot back on Update isn't completed, microsoft returns to previous settings, and the whole circle revolves again.
Anyone know how i can fix this?

Actually got a widget/app/thingy on my lappy that says 'update assistant' so i'll try that. ThaNks again.Here's the actual link:

You could also try the media creation tool(same page), which lets you create a USB drive or DVD to install from boot as I remember it.
And leave it plugged in.I’d turn off any power saving when you do it.
And I’d start doing it as the last thing you do tonight... as it might take all night...depending on what version you’re going from and your laptop

Hidden? If you type in Windows update settings it pops right up.My techy guy says in the new version of 10 they have well hidden the update settings,i have a back up computer with 10 and it would shut it down and i couldn't stop it,he has fixed it for me somehow
