Had a lovely day out to Derby with daughter yesterday. Shame we lost but thought we gave them a good game. Some good natured banter with some 'local' chelsea fans on the train. Shame there wasn't a bigger crowd. If the powers that be really want to grow the women's game maybe not having the Men's team playing at home on the same day as the final would help. Can't help thinking a lot more might have made the trip.

Thought we played pretty well and there's plenty of heart to be taken going into the next games.

Roord isn't contributing enough at the moment and Park should be getting some time in that number 10 spot.

Slightly concerned that Bunny looked off the pace and didn't really seem to be enjoying herself out there. She did work hard though and covers a lot of ground when she comes a bit deeper.

Aleixandri seems to have already tapped out. Prior looked like the more experienced of the two if anything. Couple of wayward passes from Prior but I was really pleased with how she settled into the game and didn't let herself get bullied by Ramirez (who is unplayable if you let her do that to you).

A world class left back HAS to be a priority this summer. We can NOT go into another season with Ouahabi playing there.

I'm pretty settled on Yamashita as our number one for the foreseeable though.

There's the makings of a team that can challenge for titles there. As someone mentioned, we need some more squad balance with regards to more options/cover in defensive positions. Hoping a decent coach and a couple more signings can get us where we want to be.

Both chelsea goals were lucky, City the better team for the majority of the game.

Been poor for weeks for me, wouldn't be playing if Greenwood was fit. Gracie played pretty well, but was badly let down by her partner.

That's the one thing we don't seem to be though at the moment. Create so many chances but either snatch at them or just miss out in some other way. Bunny still thinks she has to be the one to get the goals all the time and sometimes there are better options available. We were the better footballing team today but Chelsea probably had more of the better opportunities to score. We need to get a lot more out of Roord and the way she's been playing recently I might be tempted to play Coombs in that position instead.

With Greenwood and Hemp in our starting 11 we win that. Clarence doesn't outpace Greenwood for the first and we would have been carving them open on the left as well as on the right IMHO.

I totally agree with you but, generally speaking, I'm not a fan of playing the 'if' game. Every team has its own set of ifs. For example, we were without four starters on Saturday plus the first choice backup for one of those absentees. Could any of our missing players have made as big an impact as Hemp? Probably not in my opinion because I think she is top, top but who knows what might unfold during a game?

I'll be at The Joie on Wednesday, though I can't get back up for the WSL game. I'm looking forward to both of them but if offered the 'deal' of a draw on Wednesday, in exchange for a City win at the weekend, I'd take it. :)

It's going to be interesting which game Cushing prioritises. In one of them we're going to have to rotate and that makes us weaker whilst Chelsea remain as strong having a much deeper squad.

We're not really equipped to be challenging in all 4 competitions with injuries to key players. I'd love to turn them over in the CL with a scrappy own goal away and a shithouse draw at home and see how they fucking like it, I'm sick of them already.

The leagues gone for us but beating united to 3rd should be now a secondary priority. Its going to be a tight run thing.

At time of writing I hadn't seen any updated availabilities ahead of the WCL Quarter-Final 1st Leg tie but on Saturday we (Chelsea) were without four starters, two important backups, and several other players too. There wasn't a lot of depth left. We'll see if that improves for tomorrow.

The difference being Chelseas squad is about 7-8 top class players deeper than ours.
