Wolves (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Great performance in what could have been a tricky game.

Reijnders was fantastic - Ive not seen a debut as composed as that and from what we have seen already he is probably one of the best finishers in the team...but he can do everything. MOTM in a team who were all 8/10 at least

Cherki is going to cause trouble (in a good way for us) - unpredictable, confidence bordering on arrogance and always thinking about going forward...he had only been on the pitch 5 mins and he was berating RAN for not giving him a pass while he was free in the middle of the pitch

RAN - again could have been a difficult game for him but he is extremely technically gifted and can defend as well

Stones - so good to see him back - he just makes such a difference.

Nico G - did really well (hope he isnt injured - looked as though it was something to do with his elbow)

Haaland - that second goal was just a class finish

We will play much harder games but 3 pts on the board was all that was important....but the performance was excellent.

Just think about adding Rodri (especially) Gvardiol and Foden back into that team
Nico G and Stones just behind Rjeinders for me in terms of Motm. Bernardo also excellent. Doku won’t be starting too many games unless he sorts himself out and manages to make a 5 yard pass. Rico did well. Trafford dealt well with what he needed to. Dias a bit shaky. Great start to season.

Reijnders was great, Cherki showed his skill, and Stones showed why he is our best CB. The only concern will be defending with Dias having multiple brain fart moments.

Not bad if you like a decent perfomance and four goals and shit like that.

We're still giving away a worrying amount of chances and half chances though. A good team could have put at least three past us today with the chances Wolves had.

Still ... COYB. Great start. Some amazing debuts there. Reijnders looked the dogs danglies. Trafford excellent too.
Every team is going to give chances, did you watch Liverpool last night, we will get better

Cracking result away from home and first game.

Amazing from...

Reijnders
Bernardo
Stones
Trafford
Oscar Bobb
Lewis
Haaland

My only concern was Dias still looks shaky and against better opposition we could get punished because of him.
Got gvardiol and the mighty uzbek to take over

10/10 Wolves fans for singing Jota most of the game

City every player 10/10
Just solid & nothing silly.

Just need Trafford to improve his kicking but overall that was excellent, nothing fancy just solid team play

A new City & team effort

There are players in that team with ridiculous talent and a swagger that others might interpret as arrogance. In the past, we would have just killed the game and expended minimum effort, but somehow I don’t think these players will settle for that. If Guardiola continues to use the bench like he did this evening, then some opponents are going to suffer even worse.

This'll be a short thread, after the pre match people take their keyboards home (offline).

Great rusult, comfortable, nothing special, but everyone played their part.
It's unbelievable how opposition fans would sink so low as to log onto an opposing teams thread to try and spread fear. How anti football is that? Gosh they're desperate. They must be crapping themselves....it says to me the 115 is a dead fish.

Fine result.

Plenty to be optimistic about and a fair bit to work on, as would be expected after a 2 week preseason. I’d expect energy levels to rise as match fitness improves.

Wolves were aggressive and physical and won plenty of duels; helped by a bit of refereeing leniency?

Scrappy start to second half where City couldn’t keep the ball and it remained that way somewhat, punctured by two more fine goals.

We knew what we were looking for from Cherki and Reijnders and they did not disappoint. Tijji had an outstanding debut. On the debut front RAN was solid and James Trafford demonstrated composure beyond his years.

Oscar Bobb sprinkled some fairy dust about. His partner in crime Rico Lewis had an accomplished game.

Nico G did well. Bernardo did a captain’s job and it was a pleasure to see Stones and Dias back in tandem.
Excellent performance agree with your comments above. Also though the ref was shit, booking our players with ease! Allowing the wolves players to bully Rico as he went off he was pushed for no reason the ref saw this and did nothing ! One downside Nunes is not a defender ( he is half a sleep often) also guilty of giving it away very easy. please Pep get a full back! As the rest of the team looks really good!

Bringing her back because that was awesome!

Good game and played well . We need a right back as we looked exposed second half and defence looked about flaky at times but big erl looked well up for it and reinders looked class . A couple of signings and we are there .
