Wolves (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Gonna focus on the negatives as positives all to obvious. Some of this below was to be expected considering lack of game time during pre season for some and just bedding in etc.

Thought we had something of a disconnect in midfield. Nico G took ages to get going and Bernardo was running his legs off but not getting ball forward to a very mobile Reijnders.

Doku was poor. Really wanted to see him attack.seemed to try go around players rather than at them. Bobb fared far better on other flank. If this is to be Doku’s season then he needs better than that.

Back 4 wasn’t perfect again that will come.

Hard to judge marmoush at multiple subs happened but he seemed behind the pace compared to rest.

Those are the negatives. Nothing to stress about I think.

Kudos to new lads and having Stones back if fit will be bigger than Rodri. Criminally underrated.
Actually agree with all that. Think Doku is nothing but an impact sub. A better version of Traore, has ability but just hasn’t the killer touch or decision making to be a top player.
Good performance and a great start to the season. Lovely to see Stones playing again alongside Diaz, probably our best partnership. New recruits look impressive . I’m sure there’s a lot more to come from this team.

Wolves are wank and will finish bottom 4.

Very pleasing result and performance. Looked like they meant it.

All the new lads had blinders. All very good players and very confident PL debuts.

Stones imperious. So important he stays fit.

Get Rodders fit, keep Stones fit, get Foden back at, sign a couple more and it’ll be a good season.
Thought they looked good in parts. Better finsher and they could have had a few

Really good start to the season. Reijndrs very good and a few others put in decent performances. Agree on Doku.
Was disappointed by the slow and careless first 15 mins in second half till the 3rd went in. Also, they had far too much space on the right

Wow nice to see a win were we don’t need about 20 chances to grab a goal,a few of these lads have an eye for goal as well, can’t complain an away game out of the way and although wolves huffed and puffed they’ll be a dodgy enough team to play at their ground for other sides ..

Every shot on target resulted in a goal!

Very good professional performance and an excellent result. Reinjnders put in a masterclass show which Kdb would have been proud. Also great to see Boulders back and he instantly solidifies our defence. Stiffer tests ahead but encouraging signs nonetheless.

Great result and almost everyone played well individually but we looked very much like last season until Reijnders' fantastic chip to Lewis.

Everyone worked very hard and deserved the win.

We have an amazing set of players.

I still want more from Pep and his coaching team though. Hopefully those sterile patches will become less and less with more the games.

And well indeed, but Gvardiol will be the bedrock for seasons to come.
Gvardiol is a fine player and may well be our bedrock for seasons to come.
But when he's fully fit Stones is head and shoulders above any other defender we have.
Very sadly being fully fit has been on far to rate occasions recently.

What a talent Oscar Bobb is! Really pleased for him. Great close ball control and dribbling and perfectly weighted passes for 2 of the goals.

Yep, we know who they are, round, red, angry, sweaty face, bad teeth, a few greasy strands of hair across their slapheads, Friar Tuck fringe at the back, grubby tracky bottoms, slip-on shoes, point and shout 'forward, forward, forward' incessantly, still live with elderly mother in her flat, questionable personal hygiene, have plenty of spending money courtesy of mum. They think they know tactics and team selection better than Pep. I'm joking of course, but you get my drift.
Summed it up better than I did :-)

I thought we started off the game slow, the tempo was slow and we weren't moving the ball quickly enough, players taking too many touches on the ball.

When the first goal went in the shackles seemed to come off and we were much more fluent and precise in our actions, we looked really sharp.

Reijnders was exceptional today, the lad was everywhere, one minute he's taking a shot, next minute he's getting blocks in at the edge of his own box, he has the legs to run all day! I can only imagine how good he's going to be when Rodri is back.

Rico was really good today too, Stones is vitally important to this team the way he can carry the ball out from the back and break lines, he's our only centre back who can do it, Ait-Nouri is a class act too.

Very positive performance today.

Well done blues.

I don’t disagree that he’s a fine player, but, as you say, it’s all about consistency and that only comes with appearances. Hopefully, we’ll get an injury-free season or at least use him sparingly enough to maximise his impact.

Great play by the MCFC ticket office who sorted out a duplication after Royal Mail delivered mine to the wrong address. And the team weren't too shabby either. Conceded possession too easily in the first half but it's early days so I'm hoping we'll get a bit better.
Having said that; 4-0 away in a league game is bloody good going in 99% of circumstances.
