Well there was a total lack of City players on the edge of our own penalty area when the ball was pulled back that they had two glorious chances to score from.

Without watching back isn’t that the job of our two central midfielders

Great opening day as always. Jesus is so underrated. He never had a real chance to string 5 matches together, yet he continues to persist and improve. His goal scoring record is already better than most strikers his age. Imagine Firmino playing there instead of Jesus, how much abuse would he receive.

I must have been watching a different game to some.

i thought I saw Mendy get absolutely rinsed 2, 3, 4 times down the left in H2, followed by crosses into the centre of our box....could have easily been 3-2 at 60 minutes.

It's odd how City had 3 booked to their none yet Jesus was on the end of some rough treatment.

He was great first half — his movement was brilliant. Walker inverted to make a midfield 3 Mendy bang up on left wing and Ake moving across to cover both CB and LB it was clear they’d planned that during the week

So many false dawns with Mendy but he did look good in the first half — game changed once he got a booking you could tell he was worried about getting a yellow and was playing within himself as a result

Didn’t help that he didn’t get much defensive support off Raheem.

On the whole, Mendy - notwithstanding a dodgy 15 mins had a good game.

Mandy got rinsed on more than one occasion , looked too slow to me.
