I'd take 1-1 right now given our porous (yeah, I did say that) defence and their dynamic football. We all know we'll concede, I just reckon we've got one goal in us.

A point from the opener will do and keep us within touching distance of the champions in the run up to Christmas........

Missed your 1-1 predictions. At least some things never change in this ever evolving world we live in. :-)

It’s only one game but this one will at least give us an insight into whether our transfer strategy is on the right track.

As Laporte is out we’ll get an early chance to see whether Ake can cover for him. We know we’re looking for a right centre back so whoever plays there knows they’re under pressure.

We’re missing Aguero so we’ll see whether Jesus can carry our attack on his own. Wolves are good defensively so Jesus will have to be clinical which he isn't consistently.

Whoever plays left back will have a difficult job v Neto and Adama so we’ll see if we have the personnel to deal with them.

Finally as it’s a tough away game we’re likely to see Rodri and Gundogan together again. It will be interesting to see if this works any better than the myriad disappointments last season.

Assuming our new guys start, I don't think their performance on the first game is a yardstick to measure them
