Gerrard is in a horrible position. If he wins, he will forever be responsible for 2 league losses for his signature club. If he loses, and it looks as if he tried less than 100%, his employers especially will question his professionalism. Remember, each position in the table is worth £2m (I think) - it could be a very expensive indulgence.
Love it.

Ye but the most likely outcome is Villa give 100% and still lose.

Pep Guardiola on #ManCity's squad fitness: "Nothing changed after the game against Newcastle. We are who we are for the next three games, with the players we have. We have problems in one department, the others will solve it..." [via

Ake is the key. We know the others are out but is Ake available as he was on the bench and warning up

Gerrard will have no say once the players get on the pitch. I really don’t think he’ll do anything to help tbe Dippers, as a Manager he’s at the beginning of his career, the Dippers are not relevant to him, (hopefully).
Stuff about Gerrard doing anybody favours is fan fantasy.Football people are not the same as the likes of us on fan's forums.

He will, like all managers, send out his team in the exact same way he would any other match. His team and his career and of course his priority.

Correct. You can tell by their performance at Anfield and his criticism of the penalty decision that he wants to beat them as much as everyone else. It's media nonsense trying to get him to comment on how he can change the destination of the title. He'll try to beat them as best as he can. If anything he'll try harder because it's an opportunity for him to showcase his ability to the Liverpool fans he'll hope to represent again one day.

Bearing in mind we still have 2 more games after tomorrow, if Ake is not 100% then I am not sure he will be risked.

I'm pretty sure after the Newcastle game Pep suggested Ake wouldn't quite be ready for Wolves. So it's either Ferny at CB with Rodri ahead of him or vice versa. More realistically we'll start as we finished against Newcastle I think.

Conference coming up in half hour,I bet he knocks back all the topic questions they'll all want to ask,and to be honest I'm more interested to see if he says anymore on the injury front.

But no doubt Simon Stone will have a belter lined up........Pep,what makes you want to sign a player like Haaland when you don't play without a striker, can hear it now.Clown

And so he did, never fails to amaze me that guy

It's going to be a tough game this. I was quietly confident for Leeds and Newcastle but Wolves and West Ham away are going to be difficult. Wolves is a ground we have had mixed results from and with our defensive issue it makes me more nervous.

Hoping for a Villa favour tonight to make it a bit more comfortable watching tomorrow night. Wolves still have European ambitions, as do West Ham. They can still overtake the rags to push them down into the conference league. Perhaps their desire to win will mean they push on a bit more than usual and we can take advantage. Will worry more about West Ham once we've beaten Wolves (hopefully)!
