Wolves (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Good win. I don’t like Akanji being left CB and Gvadol left FB. It’s a defending disaster waiting to happen.
We have stopped a lot of crosses coming in since Gvardiol went to CB and when he reverted to LB late on, they got in behind him to cross far to easy

Things are certainly going our way at the moment. We are not playing well at all but are getting results.
We're in control of the games though.
We tightened up in the second half and they hardly threatened.
We need to be more clinical but no Rodri, Foden and Haaland is a major reason why we're not, but anyway, winning matches is all that matters now!

Three points and not much more to add.

We’re very disjointed and it’s like we have two separate teams at the moment. A defensive five, and then a load of midfielders with Doku and Marmoush in there as well.

There’s very little fluidity throughout the side, very few quick transitions from back to front, no urgency on the ball. No doubt it’s by design, but it’s tough watch, frustrating actually, and it doesn’t hint at any major improvement ahead of next season. But if we get CL then that’s that. A means to an end.

The Dad's Army quartet strikes again. Still unbeaten this season.

Old. Slow. 5 wins in a row.

City harvesting the souls of "in-form teams".

Join us once again next time in the pre-match thread when people somehow continue to be baffled by Pep playing the same line-up.
But this line up did not play well or more to the point, Pep didn't. We were meandering for most of the second half playing keep ball but with no incision. 1-0 against a side with players like Cunha is always dangerous and lo and behold he hit the bar out of nothing. Marmoush played out of position, Gundo made a few good runs but wasn't often found but thought he was poor. Bernardo taking far too many touches on a lot of occasions and KDB slow and ineffective but smashing goal.
But the lads got through it which is all that matters

We usually comfortably drill Wolves at home but you can see they are a good team, all big units who are technically excellent, the gap between us and the cannon fodder teams has definitely shortened

Great win for CL place and good to see that Bernardo survived potential leg-break tackle. But I am deeply worried about this squad being some sort of foundation for rebuild, just don't see it.

Whether it’s luck or we’ve tweaked slightly, perhaps a bit of both, but first and foremost we’ve found a way to stop losing.

By keeping the opposition to nil, we are always in a good position to win.
