Wolves (H) Post-Match Thread

3 years ago it was age that crippled us. I think it is the same this season. Liverpool are not going away as they have a young team, while we will lose Silva, Aguero and Ferna soon. It will be be lot harder this season.

Bottom line is they need a spectacular collapse for us to have et chance!
A couple of draws is all they need..

This is the biggest concern for me ....we’re so easy to play against, particularly if you’re a big physical side. 10 men behind the ball and hit us on the counter, as Otamendi and Fernandinho very exposed and lack the pace to deal with
Intensity impossible for 3 seasons imo, motivation when you have sweeped up domesticly(sp)coupled with a desimated defence and no vinny i think it's the perfect storm,i don't think we should be beating them up like we have been this evening
Maybe that’s why we needed to spend big again this summer and freshen things up but we didn’t and it will cost us

Anyone think Wolves will play like that against Liverpool?
Play like what? City were atrocious, handed them chance after chance in the first half with misplaced passes. Second half they sat back and done us on the break after rodri lost possession and Otamendi well was just Otamendi. Wolves only did what they did because City gave them a huge helping hand.

I haven’t read every post but the Gundogan supporters are conspicuous by their absence. Perhaps they have seen the light. I cannot believe he is picked ahead of others. I can only imagine he has some sort of hold over Pep

I honestly just think we don’t have as good a squad as last year. Sane and Laporte long term injuries. Vinny irreplaceable but no replacement at all in cab. Danilo gone and cancelo not looking an upgrade to me. Delph gone and I get the impression he had a big role in morale etc.

Add to that age of 3 legends especially silva and dinho and it has a cumulative affect.

I’ve not mentioned Mendy as personally I consider him a fringe player given he’s never bloody fit.

I know I'm very low after that and this post reflects that, but was today the end of an era? The gradual build and improvement since the take over - the procession of managers to finally facilitate the objective of Pep. Are the Pep yrs the best it can ever be?
Seems there is no plan for what's next.
Ageing players, players constantly injured, not getting in the cover we clearly needed. It's as if the club is resigned to Pep being a second term President seeing out his last couple of yrs and hoping he can do it with the squad he has. What's the next phase or is this it? Will the board split - especially the Spanish contingent leaving when he does, afterall, that was their raison d'etre ?
The best fillip for us all and the worst news for our rivals would be to get him to sign a new contract and build what he wants. We need that lift!
Off to check the gas is working.

bloody hell just stepped out onto the balcony

I said to my mate, no more than 10 minutes into the game, that I really don't like Gundogan and David playing together as the attacking midfielders. They just don't complement each other

Raheem is blowing hot and cold at the moment and Mahrez had a quiet game

Poor Sergio was getting no service and was totally isolated

Cancello was a disaster at left back, Otamendi has lost the plot and Fernandinho was left trying to clear up Ota's errors

If Walker had been poorly he should never have started the game

If KDB doesn't play then Bernardo has to as he brings so much energy into the team

Poor all round from us, players and coaches, but give credit to Wolves. They set the trap and we walked straight into it
