Wolves (H) Post Match Thread

I think robbie savage deserves a bit of credit, tone aside, he actually sees things better than many admit.

He called all three onsides righ by eye, before the var screen even came up.

Jesus' first goal i though was offside in play, var checked it (that one wasnt flagged from memory) in the buildup,
and he straight away said ths player on the far left plays it onside at the time of the pass. Jesus second i thought was tight enoigh to be offside, again, he said straight away, his knee is behind the defender. And the Laporte one he called right too, when he said i think the defender's foot plays him onside. Var manipulated the timing and the lines to the nearest pixel to back the linesman (they damn well tried for jesus' second ss well, giving him an extra knee), but credit to him for spotting the detail on first viewing.
So he saw what we all saw.

people who say we are boring support teams that stick 11 behind the ball on the edge of their own penalty area.if they had some bollocks it would be a lot more exciting especially for us.

He’s certainly gone up in my estimation. He seems to genuinely enjoy his job, says what he sees without adding boring caveats. That said, he was still a twat of a player though!
He revelled in that notoriety, it made him the likeable person he is today in a perverse kind of way.

It was a good game, very enjoyable. First half total control and we really should have scored another. The VAR stuff is nonsensical. There has to be better than the current process. Clear space between attacker and defender? Part of the body that scores the goal onside or offside? That would surely be easy to administer. I thought Mahrez was very good and seemed to add workload to the mesmeric skill set. Kev and Raz better than West Ham. Always annoying to lose a goal to a set piece but I couldn't see much wrong with the defending. Cody did bloody well to get on the end of it and the quality of the ball in was outstanding. The response was incredible and brilliant to see Gabby get a couple.

Every player was at it, very hard to single anyone out as they were all very very good which bodes well.

Impressed as usual by Espirito Santo. Classy guy and very complimentary about the team, the players and Pep.
Traore is a sulky big girls blouse.

Looking forward to 22 in a row on Sunday.
I know there are a few decent Wolves fans on here but Wolves are one of my least favourite teams I especially dislike Traore. Reminds me of the biggest kid at school who’s actually shit but the PE teacher rates him cos he’s bigger than anyone else. I realise Traore, like that George what his name from Burnley who was also crap enjoy having the occasional highlight moment against city, but he’s fundamentally turd. Neto looks decent tbf and tbf they’ve probably overachieved in recent years but was nice to stuff them last night.

I don't dislike them as a personal hero of mine (Robert Plant) is a big supporter and they are a historic club. Also I do like ES and as you say they have some talented players.
Still enjoyed stuffing them though.

I thought it was the other lino, the blokey looking one
Yes she didnt flag at all for our 2 late goals iirc....possibly relying on VAR too much now ,and there is the problem with Refs and Liners ...Let them Ref/line

It's getting tedious now, re drawing lines until you get the decision you want. First attempt - line from the shoulder shows him onside. Second drawing of the line, goes from the hand and shows him minutely offside. Is the hand an advantage when you can't score with it (unless your'e a Spurs player obviously)?

And that's the whole reason some of our games are not as exciting as they could be: it's the opponents' tactics that deny the watching public an open game.

City try to play attractive attacking football. Games can be frustrating to watch because the main ambition of the teams playing City is often to frustrate City.

However, if you cannot appreciate and enjoy the pass and move possession game City play, you don't really appreciate good football.

The disallowed one wasn't.
No, the over ruled one was. She flagged. Var showed she was wrong as I originally stated so don’t know why you’re trying to correct something I never said.

Both were “disallowed”, var overturned one.

Wasnt his hand. Was his sleeve line.

This really shows up the flaws of the T Shirt guideline for handball, because Laporte's hand is obstructing the end of the T Shirt line/PL badge they use to determine where the line between arm and shoulder is.

If anything I think he's actually been a tad generous with the line placement, I think he's drawn it closer to Laporte's shoulder than he would have if you could see the whole upper arm clearly.

Anyway it's the right decision as the rules are currently. I suspect they won't be like this for long, I believe the Netherlands are trialling a margin of error that's gone over well.
