Wolves PL (A) | Post Match Discussion

They played like they did v Liverpool n United who were lucky to get the points so I wasn’t surprised with our current injuries. Hate watching those games when 10 behind the ball, should b more room v Arsenal

They have had their apologies. So you were spot on.

The subs today were weird and looked desperate to me.

Pep seems unhappy with the playing staff and does not seem to know how to set the team up. He looks unable to integrate Haaland and Alvarez so both are ineffective at the moment.
Weird, weird comment saying Pep doesn't know how to set the team up. I know it's your opinion, but come on, your comment is just strange. The truth is, added to no Kevin, John and now Bernardo plus Rodders for different reasons, two stellar players have moved on and the available team are not in form. Even at full strength, it takes us a good two months every season to hit our precision groove. But here we are, seven games in, not playing well and top of the league. Our rivals will pick up injuries. Could Arsenal with their best two or three players out, top the league?

This season, the chasing pack will all take points off each other. I'm not expecting Kevin to instantly resume normal service, but my god, how we're missing his creativity. If we're within two or three points of the top at Xmas, I'll be very confident.

At last! someone has noted that we had 23 shots and 70% possession. Yes, our shooting was abysmal but surely Wolves were not so great with only one shot on target and 30 % possession. Pep picked his best available team and I agreed with his selection. Wolves usually have a lot of possession themselves e.g against Liverpool whom they ran ragged before losing 3-1 in a game THEY should have won. I'm disappointed too at our shooting today but come on - we were not as bad as people here are suggesting. Bad day at the office but for people here to say Wolves deserved to win - what nonsense. Thank you inbetween for your post.
We're achieving those stats you mention while crazily under strength and out of form - we never hit our precision groove until six to eight weeks into every season anyway. Not bad is it.

We didn't play our best today but I still thought we deserved something from the game.
Some people on here are not very happy with us losing our first league game of the season after our winning start of six wins on the trot.
Maybe they should think about changing their allegiance and start supporting a club that wins every game.
Trouble is there isn't one.

Well said, Dawson had an inspired game,he's normally garbage.
Within a few weeks of winning the treble, the moaning begins! We're still top of the league and though not great, today we deserved a draw. Pathetic over reaction on here.
Well said, journeyman Dawson had an inspired game and saved two certain goals,he's normally garbage. All through Peps 12 trophies we have had a couple of poor performances in a season,it happens, wouldn't at all be surprised to win at Arsenal.

The new players will need to step up against Arsenal or we have only bought experience squad players this summer. Maybe the penny pinching and ffp is finally catching up? Time to pay big bucks for an AM.

None of the players bought will take the place of the players currently missing. Maybe in the future it will be different but not in the next few months.

Rodri loss is unreal.

They weren't shite, they just couldn't break down their two banks of five. That defence was solid, but it was aided and abetted by Pawson who gave them the confidence to go in hard on us because they knew he'd be more lenient.

He 100% effected the outcome of that game when he booked Walker early doors then failed to book the Wolves player for similar. Let them get away with kicking the ball away at the breakdown, yet booked Alvarez for the same thing.

When he failed to give a Wolves player a second clear yellow, who then went and scored the winner, you can't say that defeat was nothing to do with the referee. Scudamore's 'strategic plan' in full swing. That game was NOT a level playing field.
does that strategic plan involve giving one of our biggest rival 2 red cards and disallowing a goal that was clearly onside?
