Wolves - post match

Not here to brag, and in fact I am sorry (genuinely) that we have inadvertently handed Liverpool the title.

A game full of drama, I can't explain why but I just felt we were going to win. Obviously beating ten men for 80 minutes is key here, probably was a sending off but the keeper was silly in making that challenge though it all happened so quickly. The penalty was a penalty though I didn't think so at the time, just goes to show how VAR got it right, even though it was accidental. The twice taken penalty was to the letter of the law correct too, but by the barest of margins, and again it boils down to interpretation. The City player encroached first of all and it was so marginal.

City support was very good last night, all things considering (the result and the way it went), made a lot of noise I thought. Fair play for joining I with the "Fuck VAR" song, proper fans City are.
I know it was all very dramatic and hostile, but that again was mainly due to VAR. Inadvertantly, it just doesn't suit being used in football.

As a fan I am still confused as to when VAR can intervene and when it can't, never mind the actual decisions.

This is the best Wolves team I've ever seen, and I know its all down to luck with owners and money. Just enjoying it whilst I can. It probably won't last too long.

Hope City get back on track next season.

You battered us and thoroughly deserved to win imo.

Better all over the pitch.

I’m more pissed on how the board has let it get to this from the position we have been in ????? Too busy organising other teams around the world for me & the brand.

More likely distracted dealing with the hacking of our scouting system and firefighting the four different enquiries all, coincidentally, started at the same time.

That said, I think there were other priorities than Mahrez and Cancelo.

Liverpool were going to win the title anyway.

Bad defeat though for City. Every loss is bad especially when you are 2-0 up. I think had the title been at stake we'd have been fully focused at 2-0 but I could see, or maybe I could fear, that you would get one back.

City can't defend but in my opinion it's just temporary. As soon as Laporte is back, we'll be sound. But I've been saying that for ages. Fixtures did for us too. Normally when we go down to 10 we play it around but we had to take off KDB and it meant we just defended the penalty area and that's not like City. We don't normally play like that. That'e because we couldn't call on 10 players to give everything physically.

Wolves are a good side. I thought the sending off was harsh because Ederson doesn't make a challenge in the end. The Wolves player was clever and continued his run and made sure he went down. I'd expect a City forward to do the same. I also thought Traore fouled Mendy but no way was that decision going to be overruled. Man Utd and Liverpool might have got that call. We don't

City will get back on track when Laporte is ready. The trouble is the League Cup and Champions League 1st leg may come too soon.

That’s what happens when you let the dippers take your best physio / medical guy.... that’s when this started going pear-shaped
How is Sane's and Laporte's injury down to physios?

That's just not true. They have had more injuries than we have but their squad is balanced. Our squad is not. Mind you had they lost TAA or Van Dijk they'd have dropped points.

Not defensively
He was a good defender in his time. Players get old and slow down. Kolarov by the time he went struggled defensively but in his time he was a top player as was Sagna, Clichy and all the defenders that Pep let go. So was Otamendi. So was Kompany.
