Wolves - post match

You might need a new sport then mate. There’s too much money in the game now for us to have anything else, City and our beloved owners have contributed to it too. I’m with you in some respects, I hate seeing anyone pull out of a challenge but it’s the way it’s going to be now
I'll never not support City. But my consumption has gone way down. I only watch city now. I used to watch a lot of it.
Good games, blood and thunder games are gone. I watched the derby and there wasn't a single bit of needle in it. That's not football

Just seen a stat that we have lost the same number of league games as United and Arsenal this season. That's pretty damning.

All good points Marvin but last night I just felt that Pep got it wrong. It was, for me, glaringly obvious that the ball was not being retained well enough by Sterling, that’s why he should have come off instead of KDB. He could of played six in midfield, with De bruyne in an almost false nine role. I just felt we would have kept the ball better and knicked it.
Well I certainly agree that City's ball retention was awful but STerling's pace was vital. It was the most likely way to get a goal.##

We played deep deliberately. There's another game tomorrow, and that defence is not able to push up.....see what happened to Eddie as a result of playing a high line. Our defence is not worthy of the name at the moment, and that is difficult to accept but it is changing everything and influencing how we play. It's very rare that a Pep side doesn't dominate the ball but we deliberately set out to defend the penalty box last night. It almost paid off and had it done, we'd have been very happy today.

Is it pure stubbornness by Pep not to get Dinho back in cm and play Walker or Garcia at cb or even Rodri?

It is football, it’s just not the football you fell in love with as a nipper. It’s the game now, we embrace it or we stop

It's not what my 1st choice would be. Those 2 can not defend. They can't defend the penalty area let alone defend near the centre-circle one on one with Rashford, or Vardy.

I wanted Garcia or HB but in truth more out of hope than knowledge of their game. Rodri is too slow in my opinion but Walker could do a job with cancelo at right back or as wing back. Too late now.

I was going to say it's too late now but we are going to play a League Cup semi-final soon as will have to come up with something different.

We might not have got the result we wanted last night. But still fantastic if flawed drama and City were nowhere near our best.

I just felt at 2-0 the sub should have been made and we could have managed the game much like we did against Leicester, the game was won at 2-0. Whilst I agree about the game on Sunday we needed to make sure we took three points from this one first. Said after the half time substitution that we would invite pressure on and we did. I felt it was a very unPep thing to do, we usually defend by keeping the ball like we did against Leicester. I know blues will say that we were down to ten men, but we’ve played with ten men in the not so distant past and still dominated.

Sterling, although he scored twice, one crap penalty and one beautiful goal, did less than nothing when the chips were down. There is no fight in him at all. When we escaped into Wolves half it broke down thro' him. nearly every time. He can't or won't tackle and just ambles around like it's a practise session. KDB should have stayed on, 'cos it seemed to go downhill when he was subbed. I am not going to mention Mendy!!! Also Eddy needs a good talking to. The rest never stopped trying so I hope they had a word with those three in the dressing room at full time. Three cups still to go for though.
