Wolves - post match

How do you know we didn’t try and get Bassaka? Just so I’m kept in the loop, have we written Cancelo off now?
If you think bissaka was ever in our plans, then you have no idea of peps playing style. AWB is a old fashioned wing back, good in tackles, gets in your face and would keep the best wingers in his pocket the whole game. But asking him to keep the game flowing like how Walker does, is not going to work with him. All of our players are great with the ball, and that is peps style, hence why he got in Stones in and plays midfielders in defence position such as Fernandinho, zinchenko and delph.

This attitude is something that’s wrong with our support.

Too fucking right they should be celebrating like that!

Winning football matches is huge, winning from being 0-2 down late on is huger, that being against the back-to-back champions is huger still.

What do you want them to do? Do what our fans do and just walk out en mass no matter what the fucking score with ten minutes to go? Or what our players do and just fuck off up the tunnel no matter what the game or how good our fans have been, even at away games?

It’s like our entire club from fans to players to boardroom don’t give a shit about each other. Too many fans don’t support the team (turning up to games is not the sum total of supporting a team), the players don’t appreciate the fans that do support the team and the support is rewarded with huge price hikes every season seeing thousands of our support drift away.

If our fans players and board started to give a shit about each other we might get excited about winning football matches or even just scoring goals!

At the moment we’re drifting as a club and fanbase, winning trophies doesn’t make us a good club!
To add to that, far too many late kick-offs for me. We are not in charge of our own destiny any more. The TV companies are now running the show since the Premier League sold out to them. Who wants to go to a match at 6 o'clock on a Saturday night, of which we've had a few lately. Who wants to be making their way home at 8 o'clock on a Saturday night. No wonder the fans are getting restless. We're undecided as to whether we'll renew our tickets for next season. All clubs need to tell Sky/BT/ Amazon et al that the clubs and fans need to be considered first and foremost. Not corporate greed. But I don't think that is ever going to happen.

Marvin as Ederson jumped up he turned his body away from the wolves player. The wolves player then moved his arm out and it appears his arm struck Edersons right thigh. So imo the wolves player instigated the contact. Also wasn't nature why wolves didn't give us the ball back after the drop ball, I think that caught a few of ours cold.
I can't bring myself to watch it, but I know what I thought at the time. Turned the commentary off for the second half. Coverage was extremely biased. It was so bad, I might have ended up saying b because they said a. It was at the very least a highly contentious decision.

I thought of this yesterday , but was too pissed off to comment

3 comical errors:

It was going out for a corner
Just put your laces through it
And lastly, at least draw the foul

That's quite incredible from a professional, and I am now questioning his concentration level as a general rule.

A nice guy, funny and always in the spotlight, doesn't take himself too seriously. Think there is a potential issue off the back of it because he can't seem to switch into any sort of serious mode and when you do that you make errors like above, 3 of them, all at once.

Charming, I've watched City since the 50's and seen some players who would die for the shirt. If you can understand that. Sterling is great when we're winning but has no bottle when we're not. He might even become a great player eventually but he is certainly no fighter. By the way, it should be ( you're and won't ). It was when I was at school anyway.

You say charming, then pap on about spelling etc.

You are old, that much is evident, so you might not know about predictive texting. It happens. You also use words like 'I've' when it could be 'I have' and even use 'we're' when it could be ' we are' .

Then you say 'die for the shirt', get real you idiot. No one has ever died for the shirt.

Sterling is a top player, leave it there

I'm usually pretty forgiving of our performances when we lose but less so about last night. I do not think that a team of City's quality should be losing from 2-0 up even when down to ten men. This team has to be doing a better job of retaining the ball: it was that failing as much as defensive ones that cost us the game.

The game also showed again where we have weaknesses and where I believe Pep needs to make some adaptations to cater for the way the league is now. Simply put, we have to add more athleticism to the side but it needs to be done without much compromise on the technical front; obviously it is preferable if we improve both the athleticism and technical ability of the team. The time has come for the club to be absolutely ruthless in respect of transfers both in terms of getting some players out and ensuring that we do what is necessary to secure the right replacements.

I say this based on the season so far and not as an overreaction to last night. We need to remember that Wolves are a side that we find difficult to play against and that they had a man advantage for most of the game, which made their pressing even more of a problem that usual. We are also still a side that is constantly robbed of important players by injury: Jesus, Merlin, Stones, Laporte & Sane are all players that could have been useful in different ways last night with us down to ten men.

It's not our season in the league and hasn't been since the ridiculous decision to disallow that goal against Spurs but there's still three cups there for the winning and, with a bit of good fortune, we can win more silverware this season.

We played 80 odd minutes with ten men against a well organised team that are also very good at what they do. We weren't shit we literally struggled with ten men and the more the game went on the more we struggled due to both physical and mental tiredness.
Having watched the Ederson sending off I think it was poor. He jumped to the side and the wolves player initiated contact with his right arm. Fair enough he gave the ref a decision to make make but for me it was wrong. The penalty we got was very soft minimal contact and we'd all be up in arms if it was given against us. To be honest I think it was given because of the sending off. I like how Mendy is being singled out, no mention of sterling giving the ball away for the first and I can only presume his reluctance to track back and helpmout in defence was because he was told not to because I can't think of another reason why he wouldn't think I need to help out. Back to Mendy yes he should have cleared it but how was that not a foul when you consider the one given against walker a few minutes earlier then the one given for the foul on sterling when he took them free kick. Was always gonna be hard against wolves and with ten men nigh on impossible. What has cost us this season is a combination of injuries and not recruiting.
Yeah it smarts like hell like every defeat but it's not like we're fighting relegation.
We don't really know what went on in the Summer re recruitment but few were keen on Maguire at £85m or Nathan Ake. And I believe Ake is injured anyway.

A lot of pundits are being wise after the event in regards to City replacing Kompany. It's simply not that easy to do.

Dude, we won it all the past 3 years. It s pity you were waiting and not celebrating.
Hey dude, we did not win it thanks to JFS,

We're was Johnny at the end of last season? Sat on the bench watching the captain lead us to the titles
