Wolves - post match

I’m not saying the signing was a bad choice but I don’t care how he played for Monaco or how physical he looked. He wasn’t great before his injury he just wasn’t but we just disagree on that. How he is playing now is all that matters. Mendy Ota stones cancelo Rodri gundogan Mahrez bravo Angelino range between poor average and inconsistent and silva is looking past his prime and sane may be offski. Laporte coming back will be welcome but it doesn’t cover for such a large number of under performing players.

I’m not that bothered now that the league is gone(I just pray candlepool don’t beat our points total) the champions league we have always under performed in. All I’m bothered about is whether pep wants to go again and can we back him.
Mendy was OK tonight barring one error which in my opinion was a foul.

I can't understand why you didn;t rate him when he first came to City. His stats were out of this world.

State of this bloody thread, havent managed to read it all as its growing faster than I can browse through it!!!! didnt realize we had such a lot of wet knickers as fans( though half of em probably sad dippers thieving our thread space)!!!!! Anyway, it never felt safe even at two nil up, and despite individual errors and losing, the team has to look forward now. With less than 48 hrs before we face Sheff utd its no good dwelling on tonight, even as we speak, I bet Peps thinking of ways to win that game. He wont be undermining his knackered players confidence by highlighting their frailties when they will be as dissapointed as anyone on here is.Whats done is done, you pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and try and win the next one, we now need to take each game as it comes one at a time, and see where it takes us. Its been a fcking brilliant journey recently, and tonight is a bump in the road, we still have a long way to go and a lot to look forward to over the next few seasons and beyond, so buckle up and fck everyone else.

I feel we’ll see a similar pattern to this in the second half of the season in the Premiership, even with the return of Laporte and, possibly, Sane: we’ll get some good wins against good opposition but we’ll probably lose another four or five games. I certainly don’t see any grounds at the moment to think we can go on a winning run of ten or more games. The efforts and achievements of the last two seasons have been phenomenal and a marvel - and privilege - to behold and though injuries have hardly helped our cause, this current squad, both individually and collectively, has its lost its way, has no leader and appears shellshocked by the relentless charge of the Dippers who look like eclipsing many of the records we have set. It was always going to be a tough, tough ask to win a third Premiership in a row but our efforts to defend it have been surprisingly lacking in belief, conviction and at times the quality - and qualities - which have brought such success. I don’t believe that this squad - which, as many on here have stated, is now in natural decline and in need of some serious rebuilding - can win the Champions League - even on a level playing field! - but still hope it can ‘sign off’ with a domestic cup - or two!

This has been a season when whatever could go wrong has gone wrong. There are lots of factors: injuries, failure to buy a centre back and left back in the summer, Liverpool's incredible form, a continued media campaign against us, some ageing players, a lack of squad depth, some poor refereeing decisions, and probably a few other issues. We just need to re-group. We still have a good chance of three trophies so we need to take this blow on the chin and move forward. Meanwhile I thought the TV commentary team was a disgrace tonight. Just one snide commment after another about City with no attempt at being impartial. The way we are being treated is a disgrace but, as a club, we need to use this to galvanise us.
Not sure left back is a big issue. We don't have an Andy Robertson in the side but it's not a big weakness either. After all we took 198 points with that left back.

Central defence is the be all and end all at the moment. Everyone knows this.

The surprise for me is that Pep must know how bad it is and yet even though Stones is training he's not playing him. He must have really gone down in Pep's estimation this season or maybe there's some fitness concern we don't know about.

This 100%

We face a period of transition.

Brought about mostly by bad planning, and epic bad signings.

Is Pep the man for the job ?,more importantly does Pep want to be the man for the job ?.

Lets face it...Pep has looked mostly disinterested this season,in my opinion this has trickled down to the team. His in game management has raised our Eye brows a few times.Did his wife returning to Spain affect his mental health ?,you have to wonder if this has affected him.

It is not all doom and gloom though. We have had 2 great season no mater what happens.

If Pep is not prepared to commit long term,or if our owners do have doubts he will ever deliver them the Champions League. What better time to act than at the beginning of a major squad rebuild.

No point giving Pep say £500,000 000 the end of this season,to see him leave 12 months later.

I will always be thankful for the success Pep has delivered. At the end of the day though City owe him nothing. He has been paid handsomely for delivering us success. If the Club decides it would rather have a new manager on a 5 year deal for the rebuild, than retaining Pep on a rolling 1 year contract i am cool with it.

League is done this Season. Now is the time to start the rebuild on the Pitch, out with the dead wood, and in with the future like Foden/Garcia
