Womens Super League. City v Liverpool 03/06 1530hrs

Caught the last 25 minutes, my eyes were deceiving me though as apparently the game was all ebb and flow, think from 65-88 minutes our keeper touched the ball once from a backpass.

Great late finish by Stanway.

Never forget it's the BBC and how they generally talk about City. The first half had a couple of real chances for Sunderland but they came from us being very careless and then a lucky break of the ball but the possession stats even then would have been massively in out favour. Bottom line is Sunderland are miles behind City as a football team and probably not one of their players would even be considered for a place in our squad never mind the team.

We are effectively competing with Chelsea and maybe Arsenal for the honours in this country but hopefully that will start to change as more money comes into the game, better players come into the other teams and the standards continue to improve. I say hopefully but as we saw with the demise of Notts County it's not going to be easy.
 
And the fact there is currently a spending limit in the WSL for the clubs which cannot be exceeded, hence our European ladies counterparts vastly outspend English clubs and subsequently attract all the best players. This puts English ladies teams at a serious disadvantage in European competition. We've managed to attract Carly Lloyd here but only on a very short term contract for the Spring series.

That was a waste of time. Think it was only a PR exercise, that SHE managed to fuck up.
