Greedy from Stanway, two or three times a simple pass for Mewis to tap in would have been a better option. It will take time to adjust to the new players and get away from the old school passing to each other. They will get much better when Lavelle plays.

I guess but to get to the next level you have to be ruthless and more about the goals for record. It will be a tight division this year and could come down to goal difference.

I have watched the ladies quite a bit at the academy stadium, and I have to say this performance is extremely poor. I hope that Lucy Bronze is coming back she plays like two players.

Mewis is a smart passer. And Lavelle is a great dribbler. Potentially exciting times ahead.

Have to say the standards of several players has dropped and they don't look fit. Not going to win anything this season unless there is a big improvement.

I think it's more about how the standard of pressing has improved in the women's game. Houghton and Bonner like time on the ball and look slow - bit like Scott being late in tackles. The midfield seem a little reluctant to go forward - maybe coaching but will definitely improve once the US players get settled in. Not sure about Morgan at right back looks vulnerable to me.

Kelly looks extremely promising but not impressed much with the overall performance and tactics.

I think Stokes and Roebuck have had strong games. Kelly, Weir, and Mewis can be happy with themselves. Walsh has been alright too.

Houghton's not as sloppy as last time, which is a good sign.

Morgan a right back Beckie isn't. She only played there because Nick Cushing didn't seem too trust the Portuguese right back we had last season!

Good win, though a little sloppy at times and we missed a hatful of chances.

I was very impressed with Sam Mewis. She can certainly pick a pass and she was my PotM.
