Yep , it's finished 1-1 ..... leaving City 4th in the table for now.

I think both United and Chelsea will be a major threat to us this season .... together with Arsenal, who have started well with a 6-1 win.
 
United look strong even before they sign Christen Press and Tobin Heath. Lavelle might have her work cut out as I wasn’t entirely convinced by City’s performance yesterday.

Ultimately, it’s between City, Chelsea and United this season. Chelsea’s squad is ridiculously strong but they didn’t look anything special today. I’m not sure if other teams will be able to hang on. It would be more reassuring for us if we could get Bronze back.
 
Why have I got the feeing, Lucy Bronze is gonna turn up at one our competitors. I hope it's not at them lot. I think she wold make an enormous difference on the right for us, going forward, where Beckie has always underwhelmed when I have seen her play.

Wouldn’t surprise me. I think she’s a United fan too so I imagine that could happen.

She was linked with us some months ago I was hoping we could sign her again. One of her latest twitter posts was advertising Nike who sponsor her. I wondered if she was being encouraged to go to a Nike club like Chelsea or Liverpool?

I think City thought they had Lucy Bronze signed and sealed but it seems to have gone very quiet. City are seriously weak down their right hand side and are in dire need of a decent RB.
 
don't know much about the womans team but i wanna start following.. so whats our chances this year? . only thing i know about womans soccer is lyon being dominate lol.

As long as we're not over reliant on Houghton to dig us out of the shit, have a mobile, creative mid and good outlets, then we'll be almost a cert for the title.

The last concern is Taylor being able to motivate the ladies about his tactics.
 
I don’t follow the women’s team very closely but from what I can tell, it seems like we’ve assembled an insane squad??

Apparently signing Alex Greenwood too?
 
Our biggest weakness now seems to be in central defence (where've I heard that before). Not convinced that Houghton and Bonner are really good enough. Steph seems to have some real lapses of judgement with passing out from the back and Gemma has never really been great in that department imho.

Pretty much. Taylor seems to be more determined to play out the back and compared to everyone else now that we've signed Bronze the CBs are a step down in that regard. And given they're naturally going to have a lot of the ball it means they either recycle it uselessly or give it away a lot unnecessarily. They're both good defenders imo but Houghton is increasingly error prone. The other issue is that Taylor seems to not be playing White up top, which I understand but Stanway isn't the alternative to fill that spot.

Otherwise it's looking good, certainly once they get up to speed with the tactics.
