You clearly love Gareth Taylor. The test of a coach is to handle unexpected injuries and HE FAILED…..again and again. He has no idea what his ‘best team’ is and selecting that totally useless keeper Taeib over a much better 16 year old has ruined this season.
We are in the Conti Final …..but is this useless idiot going to outthink Emma Hayes??
Losing1-0 away to Chelsea WAS A DISASTER….have you seen our position in the WSL league??
If you want a proper rant about that useless idiot Gareth Taylor….I’m up for it.
You’re just being too harsh here. I too have gripes with Taylor re slow build up and some dodgy team selections but the injury crisis plus so many players back late in summer were real difficulties.
Chelsea are the best WSL team just like City are in the men’s game and we gave them a good battle on Sunday. Plus Arsenal got off to a flyer so it was always catch up for us.
I know Taieb was pretty bad but we had 2 international keepers injured. I honestly have not been impressed with either White (who always makes the same near post run all the time) nor Shaw who just does not look mobile or quick enough against the top teams. Weir is a graceful player at times but rarely plays one touch and I think she could be replaced by Blakstad or Losada.
So it’s a B for Taylor from me- a few areas to improve but dealt a bad hand for quite a bit of the season and faced with very good London teams and Rags getting better. If he stays though, no excuses for next season.

See we're supplying a third of the England squad again with 8 (9 inc. loaned players) women selected for the upcoming 4-team tournament in the Arnold Clark Cup.

Ellie Roebuck, Lucy Bronze, Alex Greenwood, Demi Stokes, Keira Walsh, Georgia Stanway, Lauren Hemp and Ellen White. Jill Scott also selected.

Canada Spain & Germany are the other 3 teams involved and Janine Beckie has been selected for Canada.

Filippa Angeldahl & Julie Blakstad could face each other in the Algarve cup for Sweden & Norway respectively.

And Caroline Weir makes the Scotland squad for the Pinatar Cup

Hi all,

Where's the best place to park for the women's matches? Bringing my 2 daughters for their first match on Sunday!

Cheers

Need much more from Weir and Walsh
Chelsea fan here. Weir is a fabulous player but there is a downside with her game I feel. She is very comfortable in possession so when receives the ball she often keeps it, drags it from side to side looking for a killer pass. When watching her her however I sometimes feel that just because you can doesn't mean you should. For me she slows the game too much. Most of the time there just isn't a killer pass available so just move the ball quickly.
Losada should have started today
Was delighted that she didn't. I think she's a terrific player who would improve Chelsea's midfield. I wish we had signed her.
Mace is looking better with each game and good to see Blakstad come on earlier.
I thought she was outstanding on Sunday. Lot's of things I could point to but the most impressive was when Sam Kerr was running at her with every other City outfielder completely out of the game. First she closed Kerr's path and then, even though they were in the area by this time, she dispossessed the Aussie with a perfectly timed, clean challenge. Bear in mind that this was against a player who regularly runs way from WSL defenders. It was brilliant defending.

For me Mace and Chelsea's Carter were the outstanding performers on the day.

All fair points, a good post. You guys seem more of a team at the moment - good luck for the rest of the year.

Another contract extension...

We are seriously missing this girl this season. I'll admit when she first signed, I was like "Who?"

I quickly learned "who." Chloe, in my opinion, was our signing of the season and quite likely player of the season last year.

So happy to see her re-up with us!

Totally agree, she's a very good player, and on form she dominates, but she's been off form a while now.

Until they sack the walking disaster that is Gareth Taylor they will always be shite underachievers
But you just know they will give the clown another year
He seems to have a patron in the club or CFG set up who ensures he gets shifted around rather than being sacked for his obvious incompetence.
Look how well the youths are doing once Tim Nice But Dim got fucked off?
One league title for the women is a pretty poor return given the huge investment

Chelsea vs Arsenal. Big game on sky sports.

Why the fuck has Hinchcliffe got the gig?

Off to watch Porto Sporting instead.
I'm watching that at the moment, neither of them look particularly good, all the more galling that we didn't beat either of them. I will be multi tasking when the Sporting game starts, the women's game on the tele, Sporting on the lap top.

I watched the first 10 mins or so. Scrappy. Hopefully it improves for you.

Going for a 1-0 Chelsea win. It’s what they do in games like this.
