I absolutely would not sell Walsh. agree that Stanway is a walking red card, she has several rash challenges each game, still wouldn't sell her. I will be disappointed to see Weir go but I think she will be off to France or Spain, her last opportunity for a move overseas. Hopefully we will get top class replacements and Taylor will play them. I still feel disappointed that Lavelle never really got a chance.
Agree with this. Stanway's far from perfect but she always offers some sort of threat (one way or the other) so she could be a big loss, especially if we don't get the replacement right. The idea of selling Walsh is mental, she's the lynchpin of that midfield and it'd be harder to replace her than any of the rest, there's only a few players in the country who can do what she does at the same level.

Looking like we will need at least 10 new signing ?
With the players spoke about and areas where I think we need strengthening. Like a new No2 keeper, Left & Right Backs a couple of Midfielders and maybe 2 new Strikers ?

Wow, talk about a rash of transfers!
Of those 4, Lucy B. is the only one I’d be ok with leaving now; the other 3 have a helluva lot to still offer based on the last few months.

I haven't said what I've said lightly, but unless Walsh starts being more progressive, she's holding the team back in tempo.

A '"lynchpin" is great if it moves forward and not just backwards and side-to-side! Any of our midfield can do that job and Greenwood, as it was pointed out the other day, is more progressive than Walsh!

That's nuts when you think about it!

Both of those women have been at City for YEARS and they've not really kicked on or developed their game since Cushing left. Yes, I believe they've stagnated. They need developing or experience of another coaching mentality that can add to their game.

I don't WANT to see these players go, but they can can back to us as more rounded players down the line.

Stanway's suffered from being too versatile and has become a jack of all trades master of none. A move will probably do her good, especially if Bayern have a specific role in mind for her - I wish her all the best with it.

I'd keep Walsh. She keeps it simple and keeps things ticking over. She could possibly be more progressive, but we miss her when she's not playing.

Bronze... She's been a good player but there's been signs this season that she's not quite what she was.

One things for sure, if players of this quality are going then some top players will be needed to replace them. It'll be interesting to see who joins.

A fair argument that tbh.

Agreed on all that to a large extent.
Weir though is the one who has the ability to look like she is playing on a different level sometimes, KdB-like sometimes.

Yeah totally agree. She has that ability to make the difference. Maybe we can't replace her like for like, but we can get one or two others who are more on Losada's wavelength (I don't think we've really seen the best of her yet) and maybe the overall midfield will benefit.

Hopefully.

The WSL is a token gesture by the FA to say they support the women's game.

Their behaviour towards it has always been patronising and shameful.

They've exploited some great players internationally over the last 8 years a so for economic gain with little or nothing going back in return.

I don't blame our young talented squad members being given the chance to go to more established European clubs to hone their talents as well as get paid what they deserve.

It will serve the international team well but the club league will suffer. But there won't be any media cries about unfairness if Chelsea take over Arsenals mantel of league dominance.

I’m dismayed by the lack of young Academy players ready to step up ..or be given a chance. Apart from Jess Park, Esme Morgan, Kiera Keating and Ruby Mace…..who is there??
We have a really old squad - Bronze, Stokes, White - need to be moved on asap. Kennedy and Weir mainly poor.
Walsh just so negative but worth another season. Coombs - what is the point of this player?
Stanway - definitely move on.
Raso and Lasado - hardly seen them used to full potential.
Actually it would be easier just to get rid of Gareth Taylor.

I don’t understand why we would make wholesale changes. It will mean another slow start to the season and it is nearly impossible to catch up with so few points dropped at the top.

I believe a couple of academy women, who got first team debutes in 2021 (last season) left to play on scholarship at universities in America. Can't recall their names.
