Women's Team Thread 2024/2025

Yeah she said “I know I’m ending my contract at the end of the season” as said above, very easy mistake to make when English isn’t your first language. Essentially she’s said she knows her contact is up at the end of the season. I have no doubt we’ll offer her another and fingers crossed we keep hold of her.

I might be misremembering but I think she's already been offered another one and hasn't signed. Barca want her, she'll be on a free and she's Catalonian. I would be surprised if didn't end up there. If it happens then I guess we'll make signing a genuinely world class replacement a priority so I'm sure we'll survive.

Was pretty much my understanding. Guess we'll need to see if Layzell and/or Prior can step up to fill the void and wouldn't be surprised to see at least one or maybe even both start tonight. Will still need to look out for a backup to Hasegawa though at the very least.

I, just now, saw a video Chloe posted on Instagram. It was Sandy McIver and her in training gear at the team facility. Sandy held Chloe up and flipped/spun her around.

I can't imagine Chloe is too heavy but it seemed effortless. It seems a good sign her recovery is progressing well to me.

They'll have to inject a bit more pace into the game this dinnertime. Passing generally had insufficient pace, and too many players require, whether necessary or not, too many touches before the ball is passed. And when is Taylor gonna tell 'em that 'walking, stopping and standing' football just plays into the opposition hands, or feet - or hasn't he noticed.

Hard to judge after Thursday night, as such a low risk game after the first leg, but we didn't spread the game wide and our right flank was a cul de sac in transition with our new signing Layzell very cautious . Clear drop in midfield control once Parks and Hasegawa were subbed but sensible to save their legs for today . Bunny is our cheat code .

Yes agree, infuriating at times. I have dug out my bigger coat for this one, I was cold midweek watching the ponderous passing. Anyway we need a victory, already!

Dynamism from kick off. We’ve got a decent bench so the starters can run ‘emselves ragged for an hour!

I’m just finishing my Bovril and then I’m gonna wear my boiled wool gloves!

That ground is bloody cold at the best of times, bring back summer football. They would get bigger crowds to.

Currently watching, and true what couple of posters said.....ponderous and too many touches is an understatement.
The standard has actually dropped quite dramatically since last season judging by this so far....Miedema is not a midfielder by any stretch just looks awkward, Layzell looks out of her depth, Park has offered nothing, Fujino trying hard but looks poor, Hemp & Shaw look desperate to get involved more...but the faffing about and lack of quality is not getting the ball to them. I wouldn't pay to watch it.
