Kelly withdraws from England squad

Chloe Kelly has withdrawn from the England senior women's squad to face Switzerland on Tuesday.

I watched the England v USA match and she definitely took a hard challenge that shook her up. For those who didn't see the match, near the end Chloe clattered Krueger. Once Krueger collected herself Chloe went and shook her hand.

Probably less than 30 seconds later Kruger went flying airborne into Kelly knocking her down. It certainly appeared to be a "get back" type of challenge. It took Chloe a while to get up and she was definitely shaken. The match ended with Kelly bent over, hands on her knees.

Not surprised given who the usa boss is, she loved players bullying the opposition.

Laura Blindkilde Brown & Jess Park both start in a much changed England team for tonight's friendly against Switzerland. Jess is the only player to retain her place from Saturday's game against USA. Presumably Chloe Kelly or Fran Kirby would've been in instead but due to injury didn't make it to this game.

Debut for Ruby Mace as well and another chance to impress for Esme Morgan.
 
The wind is still howling outside my window. It is going to be breezy up at the Joie today.

That's how I saw it - immediate retaliation. It'll give GT a reason to start her on the bench.
 
Today is a formality of a fixture but have MCWFC bought into formalities. If we don't get a resounding win I expect GT will turn meteological expert and focus on the weather being a more dangerous opponent than the Vixens.
