Words you hate?

Where (and more importantly, why does it even exist) has the phrase "rocking up" come from?

It makes no sense at all. A simple "went to" or "reached" will do, AND its understandable.

Don’t like the way people say thing like
“My captain”
“My manager”
“My striker”

When talking about a footballer or manager they like or has done something good.

**** at work has started saying "eyes on" if he wants to see something that needs checking - "can I get eyes on the key list for the armoury?"

****. Can I have a look, would surely do.
Doesn’t talk like Train Guy does he, by any chance?

“Hi Col Yeahyeahyeahyeahyeah”

This kind of phrase drives me to distraction at work...you have my sympathy.

Latest annoying word from work this week is 'socialise' .
ie Someone say 'I need to socialise the strategy' with relevant colleagues, senior management etc instead of saying, discussed, or something more normal.....
