Owen would of been but injuries (and probably spent too much time at Liverpool and in the premier league) stopped him from developing further. Scholes yep you can say he was.

Scholes was an incredible footballer to be fair.

I think Shearer was/would have been better than any other striker available in that same period also. His goals record speaks for itself and that includes having two major knee operations. And, he fucked the rags off to play for Newcastle :)

Yeah I'd say Scholes is the best player we've had in that period - no shock that we conspired to fuck him about and make him fed up of the national team.
