I've never heard Walker speak before, sounds like he's on helium.
Yeah but he scores.. like.. a lot.. like in most games...He an excellent goal scorer. Scoring goals is obviously vital but maybe England would be a better all-round team with someone that offered a bit more. Maybe they wouldn't be. Won't really know unless they try it which I can't imagine they'll do unless Kane gets injured.
The problem is in games when he doesn't score because he offers little else.
Too easy a call to say that. And that is why both of them will do nothing in this tournament
Completely right. Shearer just bigged him up then showed 4 clips, three of which he gave the ball away. That’s it. He then said, without any clips that a couple of times in the second half Sterling wouldnt take players on. He got little of the ball in that half and when he did, he always to to progress. The Rashford love in baffles me - I tried to switch off the bias whilst watching him and yes he brought a fresh energy - thats what subs are meant to do - but with very little impact. Where as Loftus-Cheek was having an impact creating opportunities. I'm sure bringing him on was right, because he's a lucky player who scores goals at the right times - but for those who think he should start before Sterling are kidding themselves - he doesn't offer the movement or guile or team play that Sterling offers. Southgate knows that - but doesn't seem to think Sterling can play the right midfielder role he plays for City - is he really not a better option that Lingard in that inside forward role when you want something to happened need a goal.
I see on the BBC rating thing that Sterling has 4, Lingard 6 and Rashford almost 7 - despite Lingard missing 3 big chances, Rashford creating nothing and Sterling being no worse than anyone else. Just shows how so many are influenced by the negative publicity he gets - rather than watching what actually happens
Then i must be a fuckwit. We were playing Tunisia ffs and we were completely clueless. The stifled us from the start and we had no idea how to go round them or break them down. I am English and proud of it but i am not blind. That was really poor.Sorry but that is bullshit. We created the most chances and were not dealt with evenly by the officials. We were poor the second half but only a fuckwit would say we didn't deserve the result.
We were ultimately lucky to win today, against a steadfast but not particularly talented side. That said, I still think the penalty was very soft, especially given Tunisia’s transgressions in theirs.
@Eli Panic Fox Sports has spent most of their time showing interviews with Raheem and Kyle and talking about their poor performances and whether they should start against Panama.Haha was going to say the same. Nothing he did resulted in a chance.
