World Cup 2026

Cheapest tickets are $560 dollars and the cheapest finals ticket is $6300 10 times higher than Qatar. That's all before dynamic pricing kicks in and Fifa has confirmed it will take 15% from the buyer AND the seller of any resale tickets. So that all seems fair.

Yea. Why not have a ‘europa’ league cup for the weaker nations with maybe space for the finalists in the ‘champions league’ equivalent for the stronger nations.

No one wants to watch or probably take part in totally mismatched games with the tiny hope of an upset.

Apart from stat packers like Harry Kane :)
 
A fucked up tournament, mostly taking place in a fucked up country. I don't know who the world cup is for these days but it's not for ordinary football fans.

I knew a lad in Birmingham a good few years back who traveled with England for cricket and football and also the Lions tours. He didn't go on holidays but saved every penny for those gigs. He fucking loved it and I'll bet he'd be over the moon with a trip to the States, Mexico and Canada.

He just loved the crack with the fans and the travelling across the globe. There's probably thousands more like him.

He was a Villa fan but didn't go to see them much and turned up for five-a-side in a Beckham England top (****).

Really not looking forward to it. Tournament will be Americanised. More drinks breaks, storm breaks, more officials who can throw a flag down during any "plays", shit camera work, matches affected by heat etc. God knows what time kick offs will be?. Oh and Trump!!!

I’ve been saving for 8 years to go this World Cup which will the summer of my 50th.

But with America acting like it is and Trump in power. And with FIFA taking the piss with ticket prices I’ve decided to sack it off and go to see Oasis in Buenos Aires and go to Boca v River Plate and the Iguazu Falls instead.

If the CWC is anything to go by the weather will play a part.

How will FIFA justify not delaying games in a group finale where all teams might be on for qualification if one match is delayed for 3 hours for thunderstorms?

Never crossed my mind about simultaneous kick offs.

Imagine being in somewhere like Atlanta where ko is an early time due to the heat and the other game is delayed with thunder....

I normally go with a group of mates to the World Cup and the Euros.

At the last few tournaments it has proved almost impossible to get tickets

2026 looks like being another shitshow with the americanisation of the event -

The ticket prices are a joke

There is talk of moving games at last notice if there is civil unrest in the democrat run cities -what happens to fans who have booked flights/accommodation if a game is moved e.g. from Seattle to Chicago??

Just waiting for confirmation of a 30 minute half time break with the likes of Tiffany/Barry Manilow/Kiss/Huey Lewis and the News/Aerosmith appearing.

I am sacking it off.

Perhaps they'll wheel out Diana Ross again - didn't she mess up the opening of a previous World Cup in the States ?
 
I actually want to see Trump interfere and try and get cities removed from hosting games just so it creates a shitstorm fifa cannot ignore. Infantino then either fully bends over for trump in which case we hopefully see a widespread backlash, or he is forced to go against trump and he can fuck off trying to meddle in the sport. Or the dream scenario, fifa just removes USA alltogether and Canada/Mexico host it themselves.

I spent some time in Beunos Aires a while ago and absolutely loved the place.

I must admit, when I saw Oasis were playing there it got me thinking....should I?
