What does everyone make of this new 'revolutionary' ball ? They are saying it will allow the better players to perform to their best and reward the better players as it always flies true and always moves the same.

Surley the best players will be able to play with balls that move how they are used to, the great players like Pele and Maradona managed to do magical stuff with a ball that wasnt perfect so why try and make it different because players aren't used to a ball the moves perfectly in the air or what ever they say it does and so far ive only heard complaints about this ball from the top players its supposed to be helping.

The ball was created at Loughborough University, my cousin helped create the ball! Its called the 'Jabulani'... A lot of the goalkeepers including David James arent happy with it! Which is understandable!!

as bad as the fuckin horns, seen two aussie games and there driving me nuts already. them and vince grellas tackles.

the ball looks like rubber very bouncy, why do they always come out with some new ball for techonlogy sake, the games i've seen no-one seems comfortable on it. apparently designed for long shots but this is at the expense of basic passing. going to be a big issue in this world cup.

Just seen a bit of the Holland game, they seemed to be able to pass and shoot OK.

According to all the Dutch players...the ball does act a whole lot different when playing in high altitude.

Holland is one of the lowest lying countries in the world so that's why the ball didn't swerve as much.

This happens every world cup, a new ball which is like no other has been introduced since 1990.

Leads to missed penalties and goalie mistakes, plenty of free kicks going a mile over in the first few matches. Normally better for heading though.

In 20 years time it will just be a big power ball.

It's always "the roundest ball ever", whatever the fuck that means.

Fair enough mate, I'd assumed denser air would have more effect on it but it ain't my field. Overall though I can only see any extra unpredictability having a positive effect for us fans, ie pass the ball along the floor then anywhere in the final third FUCKING SHOOOOOOOT ;)
