Highly unfancied in the group of death.
Give over, group of death, hahaha, only from a boredom point of view, Italy and England were awful, Urugauy just cheats, the right team from that group make the quarter finals.

Alright I got carried away there.

I will expect the Dutch to go through but It will not be easy for them against Costa Rica.

Not the way they played it isn't, watch the teams that give their all, those teams that don't leave early, and deserve to.

We played well in both games and were extremely unlucky not to have a pen against Italy, Uruguay not to have a played sent off and the ball coming off Gerrards head to lay perfectly for Suarez but I accept that's football and these things happen. Both results could well have been very different.
For what?

Maybe losing the plot but recall a penalty decision that we didn't get. Even still davymcfc puts the same point across and is right. I know it's boring to be supportive of your own nation but even as a neutral you'd say they gave it there all and were unlucky

Completely agree. I think we were actually rather unfortunate. Played well in the Italy game but didn't have the class or luck to get the three points and again in the uruguay game they took their chances and we didn't. Small margins affected us but unfortunately we do not have the class to edge tight games. I don't think we can question the effort this time round.

No excuses England were poor and deserved to crash out in the groups.

England were just as I expected it to be. Pretty solid up front but shit at back.

You weren't that bad, and probably deserved a draw in both games you lost but that defensive line was always suspect of screwing up things for you and that exactly happened.

But with Italy and Uruguay being dull too, not passing through that group means you didn't deserve it.

I must have higher expectations of the best players in England then. We were OK against Italy, poor against Uruguay, and awful against Costa Rica, we deserved nothing from the game against Uruguay. We took no risks, and as result got nothing.

Costa Rica won the group because they tried harder, and took the risks to get the points. Good luck to them, even tonight, despite their lack of quality, they put every last ounce of sweat into a game that they should have lost, they're not a great side, but they were better than the other three in their group and proved it by getting 7 points, 4 more than Italy, and 6 more than England.

Don't recall a penalty incident in that game and to be fair I'm not really a neutral when it comes to England.

Deservedly lost to Italy, lost to a clinical Uruguay with a mix of bad defending and you were pretty woeful against Costa Rica imo. You arguably make your own luck but luck doesn't really come in to it when the likes of Rooney can't hit the target from about 12 yards [against Italy].

And Sturridge isn't as good as he thinks he is, chance after chance wasted. We didn't score enough goals in relation to the shots we had and the majority fell to Sturridge and were off target. He has plenty of time to improve but at the moment is one of the poorer strikers to win an England cap in recent years.

He was second top scorer in the premiership last season. What are you on about.
