World Cup thread - Sat 14th June

The 2011 Copa America was the last hurrah for this Uruguay team. They were poor at the Olympic, very average at the Confederations Cup, and qualified unconvincingly for the World Cup. Without Suarez, there's no real creativity, and their ageing backline couldn't live with Costa Rica's pace and energy. Campbell was excellent, and Bolanos and Tejada caught my eye. Navas looks a decent keeper too. Thank goodness we didn't pay the crazy money Napoli wanted for Cavani.
 
Uruguay were poor. Stuck a quid on Costa Rica for a 4v1 win. Offered £40 to cash out at 3v1 thought bollox to it I'll stick in. Fuckin gutted. They were attacking for 90 minutes then when that 3rd went in decided to play in 1 corner. Bastards.

Would have returned me £450
 
Japan play beautiful football. Reckon they will get to the knockout stages.
