World Cup VAR

Totally,disagree.. current system allows ref to say I didn't see it properly, a complete get out of jail card. And there's absoloutly no come back from that. Game over

The VAR system takes this away completely.... we've already seen refs sent home for not applying the process correctly.
Mike Riley will be deciding whether to whisper in the refs ear though.

No it doesn't.

They can look at it on replay (if told) & in most cases find a way of not giving it & be correct & have people back them up

Like tonight. Spain had a blatant pen. Ex FIFA ref Clattenburg came up with nonexistent rule on tv to say they didn't & everyone agrees.

You may well be right, but let's give it a chance to see if it's no better than the old corrupt system. It will probably be corrupt, just less so. I'd take that after what we've put up with for so long

Totally at odds with the evidence we've seen at the World Cup.... but keep peddling this fantasy

But the current system relies on ‘bent’ officials making decisions which can’t be over turned.

This one allows them to overturn ones where they have gone too far being being bent & be handed another chance to get you later just by interpreting the rules to their liking.

A ref needn't ever make another mistake ever but can engineer almost any game just by picking which incidents to penalise

This is the twat who will be in charge of VAR.

This is the twat that is charge of the existing system.... I know I'd rather have as much as possible sense checked than not! That's the lesser of two evils big style

That's what the old system allows... Pmsl

No they didn't, Pmsl.... 19 key VAR decisions, 18 corrected initial incorrect decisions.

I've already said I'm not having the v.a.r. stats for reasons amready mentioned.

But I'm talking about typical reffing performances in competitions.

They will tell you they statistically get most decisions right same as now.

Both are bollocks.

So name the specific ones they got wrong? Like others I've asked, I'll be amazed if you do.. but maybe you'll surprise me!!

They were both pulling each other, how many times...

No they weren't.

The Russian pulled the Spanish player.

That is a penalty.

The rules have been changed for tonight, to include what happened next, which is the Spanish player then fouling back.

That shouldn't matter. The pen should be given for the initial foul.

But that would have likely put the host country out of the World Cup.

So instead of stopping the video at the moment the foul occurs, they pmay it on & find a reason not to give it.

Bent.

I think you’re a tad paranoid.

I can't actually remember which ones used v.a.r. & which didn't. Tonight was corrupt imo

I just know they all should use it or none should, so, imo there have been loads of similar incidents given opposite decisions & it makes a nonsense of having it at all.
