World Snooker Championship

Everyone knows he's a bit of a dickhead but when O'Sullivan gets his head on no one comes near. Talking about his cue action now.
Every pot suddenly went dead centre. Think he was struggling and just went into a zone and it paid off.

Ooh, Selby saying he was disrespectful.

Getting out of those two snookers to gain snookers was simply ridiculous. Great interview as well, he just doesn't give a rats ass about winning it seems, if he's got the cue action he's happy. Bonkers!

Saying you dont have a cue action after knocking in a 138 is ludicrous. Maybe he's a perfectionist who needs to cue perfectly, but at his best it's effortless brilliance.

Not too sure Ronnie is particularly well liked in the world of snooker in the same way Taylor wasn't in darts. The problem is people will pay to watch those players so you don't bite the hand that feeds. Alex Higgins, Jimmy and Ronnie were/are box office. Selby is a very good player but a boring bastard. Sour grapes

There was a moment in the game that I thought things were fractious. When O'Sullivan missed a thin edge on the pink and Selby took about 60 seconds to decide whether to put him back in when it was obvious that he was going to do so. He was winding O'Sullivan up. Earlier though O'Sullivan was messing about looking at his cueing action, staying down on shots, looking at things he'd left for Selby after missing pots, delaying Selby at the table, that sort of thing.

Love all that. Selby was definitely cheesed off and shouldn't have dropped to O'Sullivan's standards in the interview but too late now. Personally wanted him to win it, yes he's a bit old fashioned but he's got a great all round game.

The problem with Selby is that he is a bit of a prat. Everyone who has a decent knowledge of snooker knows his attritional 'dark arts'. The situation on the black and pink was a joke. It was obvious what decision he was going to make, he just decided to take as long as possible to annoy his opponent and disrupt his rhythm. The pundits never call it out - it's often up to snooker followers and viewers to do that.

If an opponent does not want to get bogged down in tactical play and playing for snookers by 'hit and hope' shots that is entirely their decision. O'Sullivan's 'hit and hope' shots actually allowed him to get rid of some frustration and focus on the next few frames while spooking Selby. The shots certainly weren't disrespectful and actually worked.

Was a nice touch from O'Sullivan referencing Joe Davis, saying we should all read his book and that, guess what?, it's all about the cue action!
