So are you saying despite not having a brain and nervous system these plants are somehow conscious and sentient? This is animism.. it is ridiculous, the fact that plants have tools (evolutionary adaptive ones) to keep it alive says nothing about its capacity to suffer.

When giraffes roam the savannah, they eat acacia. These plants then release a substance which warns other acacia. Plants receiving the warning produce an alkalide poison in their leaves which puts the giraffes off.
