Worlds biggest aircraft. Antonov 225.

A rather large aircraft just passed overhead here in Northwich @ 13.26. Landing in about 4mins I'd say.

For anyone interested and if the sky is clear there is every chance this beast will fly over Manchester very shortly or close by.. Unfortunately at 32000 ft. Hoping its visible over Blackpool. Currently over Lincolnshire, tracking on

Didn't know about that site. It's good fun the kill an hour or so. I identified about 20 flying overhead this morning from it. Interstesting looking at the world map how busy Some of the American Airports like Dallas FW are and also Paris. Also interesting no air traffic over North Korea. hmm

No one uses North Korean airspace to overfly the country and I doubt North Korean aircraft are fitted with the ADS-B tech any way so it shows up as completely empty

There is an Antonov AN-124 in Manchester Airport at the moment - not quite as big as the Antonov 225, but still big and impressive.

It is due to fly out to Iraq tonight at 19:30. Does anyone know how to find out which direction it will leave? I may drive to Mobberley to watch it depart.

Have just seen this on the MEN, bloody gutted - I was at the viewing park yesterday and didn't know this was coming in or would have stuck around!!

Planes are currently departing to the South, I think, though that could all change.

Was in Manchester again this afternoon, it's just flown over Chorlton taking off, it's certainly the loudest plane I've ever heard.

Actually I think it was the Antonov AN-124

It was an Antonov 22. Largest prop aircraft in the world. Taking aircraft engines to Cuba. Think it is due back in later in week. Will keep you posted.
Would love to have seen it but working perhaps next time.
