Worst away trip.....

Arsenal back in the day....
Went on the "City special" train, got there at half time, already 2 nil down. Turnstyles shut so all had to go in through Arsenal gate and through their end so got a load of shit etc.
Then the worst second half ever, ended up staying at 2 nil. Went home!

My first away on my own was with the Reddish Supporters club to Boro. My dad gave me and my mate a lift to Reddish but we broke down so had to run to the pub. Broke down on the way but stumbled up to Boro. Got beat 3-1 SWP got sent off and Barton had his shirt robbed. Broke down on the way home and had to wait in Yorkshire for a replacement with no money (I was about 15 at the time) and just to cap it off an old bloke called me 'love'.

Went Newcastle a couple of weeks later and we were 1 down after 6 seconds. Never been with them again.

Shrewsbury away in fa cup about 1978???
Car left the icy road, hit a lampost, rolled into a field, mate put face through windscreen. We all climbed out (car on side)and a car stopped to help us, another car came along and they were looking at us and crashed into the first car, traffic chaos ensues, ambulance takes us to Leighton hospital near Crewe, mate has stitches all over his face and looks like the elephant man, we get train home and on Piccadilly platform we overhear bloke say "did you hear City lost 2-0 at Shrewsbury" !!!
Driver mate gets done for due care and attention......what a day!
