Intestersting how peoples memories and opinions of player's relative merits appear to have been blurred over time. Maybe we remember certain incidents, matches, hate figures of the time. This is the only way that I can understand the likes of Curle, Vonk, Dickov, and Edgehill being on here. The latter being in a long list of scape-goat / hate figures that we always seem to have where their effort and ability seems to be out of proportion to the abuse and vitriol that they receive.
Good shouts though for Van Blerk (possibly the worst ability AND application ever), D Brightwell, Trevor Christie, Tony Cunningham, Gerry Creaney and Robert Hopkins. I know that these are from a certain (2) eras, but for those who cannot remember and think that the likes of Sib (suffered stuck on the left wing) and Dabo are the worst, the mid-eighties and nineties were by far the grimest days of our modern history.
I think its also unfair to include youngsters who were thown in out of their depth - Buster Philips, Lee Mason, Tony Scully etc
