By "bands" I'm assuming we mean "those who actually play instruments and write songs" so as to discount the likes of Westlife. That being the case I'd cast a very strong vote for Travis, utter gash. Also any of the "thrash" metal bands where they just play ridiculourly fast and loud whilst someone screams into a microphone, like Slayer.

Suede are just a poor Bowie. Pulp are ok in small doses.

Suede with Bernard Butler were great, without they were average.

Snow Patrol really grate on me. There are other bands I don't like but that Chasing Cars song makes me sick in a way no other song does. I've been known to take my pint outside when it starts playing in the pub. Horrible song.
