...be a bad result, thinking that we've begun to pick up points away now, Mancini has got us winning away from home, it has been our achilles heel for as long as any of us can remember, poor away form..
The reaction on here, would it be highly negative, we could win tonight but it might just have draw written all over it!

It would be very bad with regards fan morale. Everton seem to be the club that have taken us becoming rich the hardest and as such we have developed quite a strong rivalry with them. Beating them would create a great buzz of positivity throughout our support, whereas a draw would have the opposite effect and this place would be unbearable if we lost.

This will be a big test tonight. Everton are a well organised well drilled team.

That being said if we want to finish in the top 4, we really should be beating Everton at home!

It's not a bad result, just a worse one! We need to pick up three points, and this, I think, is the biggest difference over the last twelve or eighteen months - we just strolled up to CoMS hoping that we would get a win, or a draw, or not lose too heavily. Nowadays, it's all about getting three points, and what it might mean if we get anything less. How are yer nerves?

I wouldn't be surprised with a dour draw. This will be a tough, tight game.

Whilst it wouldnt' be the end of our campaign for 4th place, of course, it would be a big blow.

We haven't really got any sort of winning run together this season (apart from the first few games) and it would be huge for morale throughout the club to get one going now.

So no, a draw wouldn't be a disaster, but it would feel a bit like one.

Yes and no, we've still got to play Spurs and Villa so what happens now probably won't be decisive, but i'd like a bit of leeway by the time those matches come along.

This is a massive in terms of it being our game in hand since the 1st week of the season. Spurs have a gimme on Saturday against Portsmouth so we really need to taking the initiative coming into the last stretch of the season.

With Spurs,Villa,Scum and Arsenal away still to come, draws against Everton and the likes just arent good enough.

I'm not going to say tonight is going to make or break our season but it'll go a long way towards it!!!!

Imagine if we won and we are in 4th spot this late in the season!

The boost to the moral of the players and fans would be immense and give us great confidence for the rest of he season!

Anyway Moyes and these scouse numpties who post on here just make me want us to stuff them even more!!!

A draw against Everton in isolation isnt a bad result considering some of the scalps they have taken away since Christmas, but with our aim for top 4 it would be a big setback.

That said, i'm expecting a nervous draw tonight.

Three points crucial tonight. A draw doesnt really change things at all aside from us relinquishing that game in hand over Spurs (and being a point behind them rather than two).

Tonight is going to be a really tight encounter with not many chances for either team. Set-pieces will play a huge part and in fairness Everton have the edge over us there. So its vital Shay and the back-line stay strong throughout. If they do...I predict a 1-0 win for us.

Either way those four games at the end of the season - Rags at home, Arsenal away, Villa home, Spurs home - will be the ones that define our future.
Tonight is all about gaining the pyschological advantage of getting into fourth place for the run-in. A draw wont achieve that.

It depends. If you look at fixtures as groups of games rather than single games.

So i'd have probably taken 8 points from Chelsea (a), Sunderland (a), Fulham (a) and Everton (h)

That form is still good enough for 4th if we maintain it.

A draw wouldn't be a disaster. Of course i'd love it if we win, but Everton are a decent side.

Imo we need to be looking at another 9 points from our next 4 games of Everton, Wigan, Burnley and Birmingham. If we get them, regardless of what happens tonight, i'll be happy.

We need 17 points from the next 9 games to make the magic 70 point target.
6 wins + 3 losses or
5 wins +2 draws + 2 losses or
4 wins + 5 draws
would do it.

Anything less than 4 wins and we can't make 70 points.

So a draw wouldn't be a disaster, neither would a loss. But of course a win is what everyone would prefer.

I think we will win tonight. Our home record is good and we are in pretty good form at the moment.

A win tonight would be a fantastic result. We're at home, but playing a side who are in form and difficult to beat. A draw won't be ideal, but OK. A defeat would be disappointing, but not a disaster. Whatever the result tonight, our fate will remain in our own hands (Spurs & Villa both still have to come to us).

For players and fans, before and after the game (regardless of the result) its important not to panic, despite us all desperately wanting 4th spot. Our manager is staying calm, we should too and back him and the team all the way.

For what its worth, I think we'll win tonight, but whether we do or not, I think we'll ultimately get 4th place.
