They have Kagawa and Rooney as playmaker and Powell as a long term player.

They need to replace Evra, Rio and Vidic and also get a DMf to replace the void Hargreaves left. I think spending £50m on Bale is the least of their priorities.

I agree with this plus the broke the bank for RVP last season and Bale would demand a few £s weekly.

I think a lot fo people seem to forget that United tapped up Berbatov and Spurs have just done them over with the Fryers transfer. Spurs would shock me if they sold to United. Chelsea tapped up Modric too and only us have a decent relationship with them.

If Bale is sold in this league we will be the ideal buyer based on the above imo.

As seen before Spurs will hold a player rather than sell to a club they don't want to.

I think money talks though, if United offered enough they would sell, regardless of those past transfers.

As above they have other priorities. Their defence is shoddy and ageing all the time. Both CB's are injury prone and getting on. Jones has proven to be an average CB who is decent in midfield holding and as a rb cover and Smalling and Evans are their only real options for the future as good CB's. They need to sort that out and also Evra was shite last season and has been ok this season, he's like 32 now and he needs replacing.

Wide players are the least of their worries.

Levy would only sell if he wanted a player from them + cash i.e Nani+20-30mill or something daft.

Levy could get more cash from us anyway.
