Would Kinkladze get into this side?

Exeter Blue I am here said:
In terms of sheer talent, he'd walk into it. Like Silva he was a beautiful passer of the ball in respect of timing and weight, and he was the best dribbler I've ever seen anywhere. Silva though works hard as well, and this season so has Nasri, and as a complete package I'd prefer them both to Kinkladze. Unfair to judge though really, cos Kinky had to ply most of his City trade in a shit team, where he was the lone and frequent focus of the opposition's attention. His performance at home to Newcastle, when they were top of the PL, remains one of the most exhilarating I've ever seen, and there was another I can remember down at Southend in a midweeker when he dazzled like the sun. I loved him to bits, but I think he'd have only have been a squad player in the current team. Nasri, and in particular Silva, offer much more

Fair summary. Ultimately one cannot be sure just what he would have done if he had been part of the current squad but I think he would have been a useful addition.

He was a regular in a lower table, lower league City and then with Derby County after not fitting into the Ajax system.

I would prefer Silva, Navas, Milner and Nasri to play the role required in the current side rather than a Kinky of 15 years ago. The Premier League is much stronger now too.

Colin Bell and Dave Ewing would have little problem getting a start, but I'm not so sure about Kinky!
Who's Dave Ewing?

Well, that takes the Garibaldi? I thought I'd heard everything on this forum but NCE50eggs has just taught me something else.

Joined City in '49, lost the FAC final in '55 despite herculean efforts, near won the '56 FAC Final single-handed by takin' on the whole of Birmingham's attack and putting them in his pocket, and one of only two players strong enough to help Trautmann off the pitch at the end!

He was the '50s version of VK!

(Just don't ask me who is VK!)

The kinky that joined without a shadow of a doubt the kinky that left probably not. Nurtured correctly he would have been devastating, he was coached poorly, and developed some bad habits whilst all the time getting smoke blown up his arse.
Few of our current crop would be able to come close to shining as bright playing in a similarly dross side.

He had no pace though.
