Would Kompany & Richards be a better CB combination?

Could this sort some of our defensive woes? Vinny and Micah as a centre back pairing?.

Opinion is often divided when talking about Micah. He is a brilliant right back but I felt against Sunderland he was top class as CB, albeit against a poor Sunderland side.
But the thought of him partnering Vinny at the back, in particular Champions League games is an idea that I think BM should try. We have an equally good right back in Zaba and to me we would look more solid

I like Lescott and i''m not advocating ditching or selling him but is it time for him to utilise another combination or at least trying it?.

maybe for champions league games, but for league games lescott and kompany are great

I don't know, but I have for a couple of years now been quite certain that Micah could be the best central defender in the PL (yes even better than Vinny) and likely one of the best in the world. He's got it all really.

I think Richards is better suited in the middle. He's one of the best players in the world in the air he wins everything, he could out muscle any striker off the ball and his pace would get him out of trouble if he made a mistake.

Micah was SUPERB at centre half the other week. Maybe a trial run there? I dunno. He has every attribute to be a centre half.

Short memories. Micah is a top right back and a fairly average CB. Why the need to change him?

Being world class against a Sunderland who had a bad day anyway? As Sunderland didnt even attack on that match Richards was only impressive after his contribution for our corners he was good in the air with a little luck he could score two goals.

Richards is a good player but I dont know how much he will start when Maicon is fit. One of Zabba, Richards, Maicon will always be in the stands.
